New Year's Sausage Dip

-Rotei Hot Diced Tomatoes
-Any brand of hot pork sausage (it has to be HOT, it adds to the flavor)
-One block of Velveeta

Brown the pork sausage, make sure you cut it up into small chunks. Cut up the Velveeta into squares about the size of a quarter. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker/crock pot. Slow cook it for about 1-2 hours or until the cheese is melted. Serve with your favorite tortilla chip (works best with Tostitos Scoops)

Looks gross, but it's fucking delicious. I accidentally posted this in another thread once, so it might look familiar.

Ah, here we go:

Teriyaki Burgers

1 lb ground beef (or as much as you want)
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. peelefd fresh ginger, grated (ginger powder works too)
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup chopped green onions
pinch of pepper

Combine all ingredients into a bowl. Form into 4 patties. Grill or broil for 10 minutes, and make sure you flip to brown both sides Probably won't need condiments because of the burger's flavor. When you bite into it, the teriyaki sauce oozes out of the burger.

I actually used my George Foreman grill to the grill them. Came out great.

Sure, that's pretty solid recipe. You might want to try it at least once before serving it to the girl though. There's a chance you fuck up the steaks if you aren't that experience in cooking and you want everything to be as close to perfection if you just want to impress her.

Cognac and the deglazing will give it most of the flavour so don't worry about that too much. Salt and pepper to taste is always safe bet, but seeing there's plenty of pepper in the steaks you might not want to add too much of that.
I've never made the dish so don't trust me too much on this one, but if I were to add something to the sauce, maybe some garlic, very small amount of dijon mustard and some fresh herbs.

My favorite soup/stew recipe:

Ingredients:

>2 tablespoons unsalted butter
>2 leeks, chopped up nicely
>2 big carrots, chopped up
>2 cloves of garlic, chopped fine
>1/2 cup of pearl barley
>2 cups of water
>12 oz can of evaporated milk
>2 turnips, chopped up
>1/2 cup of your favorite white wine
>1/4 tsp thyme leaves
>1/2 teaspoon crunched up saffron
>1 cup of heavy cream
>salt and pepper to your liking
>1 1/2 lbs of cod, cut up in chunks
>3/4 cup of clam meat
>1 cup of crab (you can use imitation if you'd like)

First, be sure to soak that barley for an hour before you start anything else

Place 1/2 lb of the cod in a pot with the 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, and boil for 10 minutes. Remove the fish and set aside for later. Keep your fishy goodness water (stock).

In a saucepan, melt the butter and saute leeks, carrots, and garlic over medium low. Cook until limp but not brown.

Add wine and bring to a boil. Once at a boil, reduce to medium low heat, and add that fishy water, along with the thyme, salt, pepper, barley, and turnips. Cook this until your turnips are nice and tender.

In another saucepan, heat the cream, then add the crushed saffron threads until you get that beautiful golden color. Stir this mixture along with the evaporated milk into the other pan (the one with the turnips!)

Add your fish, crabmeat, and clams and turn the heat to low. Cover this, and cook on medium low until fish is ready (around 7-10 minutes).
