If you are a poorfag and can only buy one seasoning, what will you buy? Assume that you already have salt and pepper.

>> No.4414919

raw garlic

>> No.4414922

I would buy tarragon, but the better bet would probably be oregano.

Why buy this as your only seasoning though? You can get it from a massive number of raw ingredients. Why not save your "one seasoning" for something that's difficult to duplicate?

>> No.4414938

If I'm poor, then I'm either eating potatoes and eggs or rice and beans.

So I'd probably buy the largest, cheapest bottle of hot sauce. Tapatio is about four dollars for a quart. No, that's not a typo, a quart.

Gives you a lot of different flavors for not a lot of money. Spicy, tangy, salty, savory...

>> No.4414939

tough decision between garlic and rosemary

probably garlic since it can be used in more things

>> No.4414951

Where are you finding tapatio at that price? It sells near me for like $5 for a small bottle.

Buying just one spice is ridiculous. Walmart has spice bottles for fifty cents each, if you cant afford more than one, then youve got bigger problems in life than tasty food.
Given salt and pepper, the next in line would have to be something with heat... chili powder or sriracha, then garlic, then onion powder, then oregano or Italian seasoning blend... then the msg.

I agree it's ridiculous in reality, but hey, this is an interesting discussion.

I didnt say it was about quality... this thread is about the OP's status which is squarely in the bottom 1%.

Not only does he shop at Walmart, but he also steals from there.

To be honest, if you cant afford spices, then theft should be right up there with the skills you must acquire. Learn to steal, but be aware the spice aisle will have good coverage with cameras.

I get it at Wal-mart.

It's going to be the same Tapatio no matter where you go, so I don't see the point in spending more at another store. Even if another store has a better price, all you have to do is show the cashier the flyer.

The Wal-mart hate on this board (and in general) is fucking retarded. Please quit pretending your spices are better because you bought them at an Indian/Mexican grocer.

define seasoning. I'm considering any powdered substance, really.

someone said raw garlic, but I don't consider that a seasoning. Do onions, peppers, carrots, and celery count as seasoning as well? Anything except the slab of meat you start with?
