Candy thread?
Favorite types, favorite flavors, Favorite brands.
Anything candy.
Lately I've been having cravings for hard candies. Thinking of ordering some Napoleon Bonbon candies.

I like good (soft) Gummis, chocolate, hard candies, etc.

Candy Tip: If you have a sore throat, suck on a Horehound drop, better than any cough drop I have ever had, works faster and tastes better

I have been addicted to dots lately.
Me and my friend like to make runs to walmart and get candy. They actually have a pretty large selection for 98 cents.
One thing I don not understand about this candy is the way the air is packaged.
It makes it seem like there is so much candy, then you eat like 3 handfuls and there's only like half a box left.

Pretty good, can get stressful handling 10 or more customers by myself, especially when someone HAS to order a coffee drink, ice cream is being scooped, need to ring people up, telling about the history of a candy and so on.

Worst kind of folks are: the elderly person who goes IT COST A NICKEL 70 YEARS AGO WHAT A RIPOFF, the person who goes I DO NOT LIKE SUGAR, LOOK AT ME PLEBS, I AM SUPERIOR and of course the person who gives a taste of a fine handmade truffle to a 2 year old

For favorite hard candy? Jawbreakers are a fun if simple one. Zotz are pretty fun if you like sour, my personal favorite are the european hard candies, especially grapefruit and pear

Haribo Cola Bottles are boring, you want the fizzy gummi cola bottles, you dont drink flat soda, so why have a flat cola gummi?

>> No.4413851

There is a lot of bad truffles out there. The worst offenders have overwhipped ganaches (to save money by beating air into it), filled molds (which let them use the "cheap" ganache), too much cream, sugar, etc. and ones with overpowering artificial flavorings ruining the chocolate. We use good bittersweet and natural sweetener in ours and hand dip the thick ganache (still creamy, but not a puff of air)

Yeah, we have Salmiak licorice, last count was 3 different kinds. Salmiak is a type of mineral, also known as Ammonium Chloride, it gives the extremely salty and astringent taste you find in the dutch/nordic salmiak licorice. This is not a licorice for casuals, I like black licorice and I cant stand the stuff, it does have its fans though, where did you learn about it?

I wish I could say anything more than it is in CA, but I think it is for the best if I don't. We also handmake caramels (the secret is to let it cook all day). We make the vast majority of chocolates by hand, only bringing in a couple things like cremes (we found the best, so why spend time on that?). We also have imported candy, old time classic US candy you can never find, some fun and crazy stuff plus the best fudge

My and my grandma love gummi bears.

She has this bigass bag that she keeps in a drawer beside her bed. She told me sometimes she'll just reach over, grab a handfull, and go to sleep. She did that one night and got indegestion the next morning.

She tells the whole family, "When I die, don't cry for me. Because I'll probably die with gummi bears in my mouth and ya'll will have a good laugh".

Does the rest of the world enjoy Wicked Fizz as much as I did as an aussie kid? I still love these fuckers even though they're essentially edible plastic. Too bad they're so hard to come by these days, have to make a 40 minute trip to a specialist candy store just to get them now.
