oh good. well if that's the case, there are really no limits to how healthy you can eat. A raw diet being one extreme, though expensive, is great nutrient wise. use the google and decide which general direction you'd like to take your diet. find out which one jives the best with your exercise regimen. ie; power lifting isn't a good match for raw diet, etc.

Not OP, but going in with a similar deal.

Already pretty active, I just eat shitty food.

I've got a 15 oz can of Black Beans, 14.5 oz can of Petite Diced Tomatoes, a 16 oz bag of Long Grain Rice, an 11 oz can of Yellow Corn, and a pot without a cover because I don't know, somebody stole it or something.

I realize there is a way to cook this together, but I'm stupid as shit, so I need a little help.

Also, didn't want to start my own thread, thought this one would do.

Implying there are limits to how healthy you can eat if don't exercise.

Are we talking about preparation time or total time here?

Because a lot of dishes have small preparation times but pretty long cooking times.

A roast could be prepared in five minutes but it will take an hour or even two hours or sometimes even more to cook.

Same goes for pies. It doesn't take much to chop some veggies, shear some meat, make a simple sauce and combine the lot into prepared pie dough. But then you have about an hour of cooking time.

Soups and stews as well.

Ever heard of the paleo diet?

Don't do it. Fad diets are bullshit.

But if you look at it, it has some good points. Eat more lean meats (like birds and fish) and fresh veggies (squash, beans, spinach, etc.).

You want simple? steam some green beans and serve with baked salmon/roast chicken. Learn to stir-fry. Oatz for breakfast (I recommend frozen berries and brown sugar) with good black coffee (cold brew, french press, whatever). Eat whatever you want for lunch.

your definition of simple + not too much time is hard for me to accept.

OP wants ramen level food.

your two or three hour long ordeals are not what OP is looking for.

thanks anyway.

If you know how to cook rice, cook that first. Then put all of the other stuff in a separate pot, turn on medium heat, season accordingly, and put on top of the rice.

Dude, easy peasy.
Cook the rice. (Hm, you say you don't have a cover for your pot? Do you have a suitable plate with which to cover your pot?)
If you want supersuper easy, just cook that rice and dump the beans and tomatoes into it. They're pre-cooked anyway, and the heat of the rice will warm up the additional ingredients. You could add the corn in too, if you want, but I'd just go for the lazy/poor man's black beans I just described.

As a side dish, I like to cut up some potatoes and carrots, put a bit of butter, olive oil, salt and pepper on it, wrap it in tin foil and stick it in the oven until its nice and soft. 5 mins prep and fucking delicious
