Curried lentils and jasmine rice is something that I often eat. Lentils kind of end up looking like poop no matter what, sadly.

This would have been better served in a bowl I think.

I have been trying to make good indian style lentils for a couple weeks now. Attempting a new recipe every week or so. So far.. 2 pretty good batches, and 1 batch I just couldn't even stomach. The differences have been in fiddling with the spice mix and also the types of lentils.

Those look like brown lentils, which I used on my first batch, which was ok. For my second batch I used yellow moong dahl and red dahl. That was ok as well. For my third batch I used straight Chana Dahl. That batch was a huge NOPE.. but I also added cauliflower and vcrumbled veggie burger.. so I don't think it was all the chana dahls fault.

Next up, tor dahl.

Surprised you just added curry powder sceak. To make mine edible, I add curry, turmeric, peppers, coriander, cinamon, fennel, cardamom, and garam masala also, asoefatida and unripen mango powder. Then again, I suppose the non pleb, would attempt a more traditional rendition.
