What western foods and dishes do Asian people consider exotic?

>> No.4351041

You could just not be obsessed with Asians for a little while and find something better to do.

Well to we do got a couple of recipes we never get right

-Pastas, while I love the style of Chinese meat sauce, white sauce pasta is pretty much starch and milk. So I never get tired of eating cabornara at a cafe let alone Italian restaurant. Sauce sticks onto pasta like glue

-Steaks, western steaks I once thought was overpriced, But when I finally had one, I now know why they taste so good, all it takes it some salt, pepper and maybe a bit of soy and broil the bastard. We do not know how to season steak and it shows.

Because you habitually feel every single dish requires soy. If you want asian food, make asian food and use all the soy you like. It really has no place in western dishes. Same thing happens when western cooks tinker soy, it always turns out to be quite a half-assed attempt at asian.

This is about as exotic as it gets for AZN people. Google translate the comments to find out what they think about it.

Having known a few asians myself (americanized, but still) they almost never keep baking supplies.

They almost never seem to have butter especially

As western cooking is an amalgram of euro/asian cooking, it does indeed have a place in cooking. Stop thinking of cultures as concrete and independent of one another.

I believe that his point was that you shouldn't add soy to everything, which is true.

You wanna know what's really considered exotic? Pastries and cakes.

Serve a flaky biscuit or delicate crumb cake or some baklava. Even brownies are a bit of a trip.
