My girlfriend is coming round mine later for the first time and I want to show her how good of a cook I am, what recipes do you suggest?

List the options; what can you cook?

Well, if you gave me recipes I'm sure I could follow them and make something pretty nice.

But as I only started cooking, properly, a few months ago as I moved out of my parent's house I've so far made most classical british dishes, some curries and god knows how many pasta dishes. But I want to try something different to impress her.

You're obviously not a good cook.

chicken Parmesan w/ pasta, a nice steak w/ kale and a simple risotto, soy sauce honey glazed salmon w/ asparagus are all pretty easy and tasty.

i don't think you're going to impress her, op

It's probably safer to make something you've made before.

Too a normal person, and a teenager as well, making edible food is like a godsend.

It really is to a lot of people. And being able to make food as good as Olive Garden or whatever chain restaurant is beginner shit.

OP, you should know what she likes and what you have access to. I'm not googling recipes for you.
