Are you a responsible shopper that takes advantage of the savings coupons provide? Can you believe there are people out there that are too embarrassed to use coupons? Shit, I even stack coupons when I can. It's basically free money.

Fuck tha police.

What the fuck is embarrassing about coupons. They are easily-accessible money back in your pocket.

It's one thing to bust out an entire binder of double and triple coupons to get 50 packs of diapers for $3 when you aren't even married... that shit is embarrassing. Just using coupons is not.

I saved $5 off my groceries using coupons at Wegmans this week, so its not just chump change either.

It is even when you are married.

I stood behind a crazy coupon woman a year ago. Holy shit, it took 15 minutes for it to finish. I don't even know why or what the point of it was. It was all fucking processed garbage. Not a single fruit, vegetable, or meat that could be cooked. It was just frozen dinners, canned food, and boxed food. Christ.

Not everyone here is desperately poor that they have to fuck with scraps of paper and change around their food plans for the whole week just to save $5. Wouldn't that time be better spent filing for EBT or whatever they call that thing?

Not at H-E-B, they have coupons for meat, veggies, fruit, pasta, etc. It's a great grocery store.

>> No.4265996

most coupons are for named brands and you only save 20 cents most times

i buy mainly no name/less known brands
plus i dont get coupons in the mail, and scouring the coupon baord once u enter the store(if they even have one) rarely has coupons for anything useful

im Canadian if that matters, heard of this coupon stacking shit years ago in a tv show, dont know how it even works

My friend who worked at ablertson was telling me how he had to deal with those "extreme" couponers occasionally. Could get like $300 worth of grocery for like 20 bucks.... Manufacturer coupons combined with in store sales is how people get extreme savings. It's a matter of waiting for them to show up though.

I don't get that many manufacturer coupons in the mail, so i never really get a chance to get a good deal on anything.

If anyone in this thread shops at Kroger then you know how awesome their reward coupon program is. Every few months my household gets a book full of sweet coupons based on what we buy the most. Last month in addition to the little discounts on paper products and stuff, we got
>FREE 1 lb Kroger bacon
>FREE 1 dozen eggs
>FREE 1 gallon milk

Kroger is the shit.

I use coupons, ironically most of the time it isn't for shit like frozen food or nasty crap like chips or soda.
I just looked through my coupons right now, and it's just a whole bunch for soups, juice, kcups, oatmeal, yogurt, vitamins and ovaltine. (I swear I'm not an old person even if it sounds like I'm one)

I just use them because it saves me a bit of money that I can use toward something else. The less I have to spend on groceries the better. But I won't get stuff I wouldn't eat/use anyway so it's just a bit of extra savings in my pocket.

It depends on what kind of things you're looking for. If you use a certain brand always go on their website and see if they've got a coupon page. Also coupons.com for some basic junk.

>> No.4266885

You know, most coupons make you spend more money on brand name/unnecessary items that you could have just not bought in the first place. Coupons just give you the illusion of thrift and frugality, in reality they're really not that useful.

>> No.4266892

The grocery store I shop at has some good coupons but I don't buy processed shit so most of it I can't use. Usually get $1 off next fresh loaf of bread coupons every time I get bread though. That's pretty awesome.

It's fantastic.

I've been couponing for almost two years now. I've always been thrifty with shopping (waiting for a pair of shoes to go on sale, wait for 15% off all jeans sale, etc) but once I started helping with groceries, my mom and I saved around $400 last year (~43%).

I follow store ads and stack them with manufactures coupons. Not many people my age get excited about Campbell's soup being on sale for $0.88 each and having a coupon that saves $0.40 for every three cans bought, but I do.

Regardless of what some of you TV types might believe, some of us make enough money so that we might as well work instead of spending hours collecting coupons for shit that we don't want.

I'd rather get what I want, pay for it and be done with it. Easy peasy. These assholes spend six hours collecting coupons to get stuff that they don't want or need, where's the sense in that? They're OCD types that feel that they have to spend money because they'll get 20 cents off on some shit that they'll never use or want, and their families have to deal with that bullshit... that's the cost they don't calculate.

How exactly does being responsible equate to spending so much time collecting coupons than I make working given the same amount of time, also calculate how that works vs. using coupons doesn't get me the products that I want in the first place.

Perhaps you should spend more time learning how to be a responsible human being. You saved $400 in a year... I make that in less than a day, after taxes.

Don't work hard or long, work smart. Then have fun, what are you some OCD faggot?

most of the things that have coupons are the types of foods I don't eat, I do take advantage of packaged salad mix coupons and occasionally condiment coupons. I shop sales though, I bought 3 dozen eggs for 5 bucks the other day, which is fairly inexpensive where I live.
