Do you call this chocolate, America? I bought one today and had to throw it away after two bites. Fucking disgusting flavor of low-grade confectionery byproduct. The packaging even mentioned vegetable oil and other shit tier ingredients that do not belong in what we call chocolate over here. Someone recommend me good American chocolate, if there is any.

Might be slightly more amusing if I didn't see a similar thread every other day.

Are you an Ausfag? If so, I regularly send my strayan lover Reese's and Ghirardelli

I'm pretty sure I'm spelling that wrong

regardless, he hates the shit out of hershey (really, who doesn't) but loves the fuck out of reese's. I dunno if Aldi is an international chain but they carry some sick ass swedish and yurop chocolate for cheap. I like the dark chocolate

pic related: he sent me one of these and it was nom nom

I live in Western Europe. I'm trying to get an appetite for typical American treats and snacks, which I order from an online store that specializes in these, but somehow I am often left disappointed. It either tastes artificial or the taste is just... off. Perhaps our candy is too different.
>>4251517
I didn't actually believe something labeled "chocolate" could really be so bad. We have bad chocolate that is priced alike, but this thing is on another level. I think this would be called "coca fantasy" here by law.
>>4251543
How does it compare to Lindt?

Isn't Hershey's owned by a European company?

Significantly better in my opinion. Lindt is only one (big) tier up from hersheys in my book

That website is shit. Its all mass produced garbage and junkfood. Just go buy it on amazon. Something like this if you just want plain chocolate http://www.amazon.com/Ghirardelli-Chocolate-Intense-Twilight-3-5-Ounce/dp/B0019ZHU2Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1361313665&sr=1-1&keywords=ghirardelli

Amazon doesn't like that I live abroad, it won't let me ship to the Netherlands. Seems like I'll have to find it in an expat store.

>> No.4251636

>>4251625
Look for dove chocolate in your expat stores. Its much more common. Its not gourmet chocolate like ghiradelli, but its much better than hersheys. Frankly, the country of origin doesnt make a ton of difference to the chocolate, since all the cocoa is coming from latin america or africa anyways

>>4251636
Noted. It's going to be a while before I'm out of town again, so in the meantime, I will be enjoying my Lindt 80% along with a fine dose of weed. Highly recommendable.

If we're talking milk chocolate, there is only one answer.

>> No.4251748

>if there is any

Ha! Non-Americans only get exposed to mass produced American bullshit and think that's the only option we have. With chocolate, beer, or anything else it's pretty much the same story over and over again. Smaller companies (and there are a shitload of them) make excellent/expensive products and most of the cheap stuff is shit.

Here's a good American chocolate:

Ahh, yes, this explains everything. I'm going to the kitchen to get myself a box of pure chocolate sprinkles. Yeah, we put that shit on our sandwiches every day here. Not even kidding, it's an acceptable breakfast, even for adults.

Loading up my MFLB with some amnesia haze right now.

Uh, no. You can get 40 different chocolate bars at fucking Wal-mart.

Ritter
Cadbury
Milka
Scharffen berger
Lindt
Ghiradelli
Green & Black organics
Dove
Chuao
Merci

There's probably more that I can't remember. This in in a fucking Walmart in a rural part of the US in a town of about 25,000 people.

American here. I never liked Hershey. I grew up with Cadbury.

I agree with you OP, my mother went to the US a few years ago and brought back loads of stuff that we couldn't get here in Gibraltar. There were some hershey's kisses, I tried them for the first time and I hated the taste so much I almost threw up, it was that shit. On the other hand the reese's ones were actually nice. I can't remember all of them but I think Ritter was also decent, all the hershey's ones were shit tier, not just the kisses.

Hershey's milk chocolate isn't bad, there are obviously better milk chocolates out there.

But this stuff is much better
