The only people who care about that shit are Californians. No joke, NY here and you see more old world wines than California stuff on the shelf. CA wine still has a huge stigma due to the abominations that it cranked out in the 90s. So much so that some contrarian hipsters make a point of drinking it because it's edgy. Like drinking box wine.

Claiming that cali wine industry isn't as developed as French or European counterparts is outright ignorance. I wasn't denying that.

>> No.4208742

>>4208723

Yeah but the faults in cheap CA wine are pretty much intolerable, whereas the faults in cheap European wines are usually easier to overlook.

That's because even cheap CA wines are still trying to emulate the boozy bombastic characteristics of cult Napa cabs, whereas inexpensive European wines are meant to be actually drunk on a regular basis and not scored on some arbitrary Parker-influenced scale that gives vulgar flavors an unnecessary amount of weight.

American wine drinkers need to be told what's good, and the way this is decided makes no sense and results in shit wine.

>> No.4208750

>>4208742
Stop spreading disinfo. I live in cali. I regularly buy cheaper yet good and dependable crates of wine on a regular basis. I also usually keep a crate of good wine that I get from Napa every now and then. Neither the good nor the average is characteristically bombastic, tends to vary.

tl;dr Euro wine isn't necessarily better than cali wine, anyone who says so is either edgy or jelly

It's not my country. Despite popular belief.

Though I guess one truly Canadian food would be rapeseed oil.

Cuisine-wise, I guess I could say poutine, but Quebec doesn't really want to be included, so I can't say that.

Maple leaf cookies are pretty good. I guess I'll stick to that, but they're really just maple-flavored cookies and icing sandwiches. Something that was "invented" in the confederate states, I believe.

Canada has no fucking identity. I feel like I have the world on my shoulders, every, single, day.

That looks tasty as fuck man.
What country does this fine dish reign from,/ck/omrade?

>> No.4211790

Finland. Basically taters, soft pork and blood pudding in a soup. It's alright but nothing special

>> No.4211792

>>4211790

It's hearty as fuck, though. "Pudding" is more of an pancake baked in oven, kinda spongy and tastes of beer and iron. Sucks up the broth really nicely. Just thought posting it here and troll these ninnies arguing about sandwiches and craft beer.

Sounds really good man. Really hearty, nutrition dense food that I'd totally dig.
It doesn't have a lot of ingredients, simple,GOOD food.
Not fancy but it will keep you from starving, and that's what food is REALLY for.
Basically I like traditional foods.

Yeah, it's alright but like, nothing I would go all crazy on. If the broth is prepared well, it's a nice treat.

On the other hand, I could eat these bad boys every day. Lingonberry jam and glass of cold wholemilk. Goddamn.

Looks tasty, not the easiest thing to make, but yeah looks good.
I want to see some cold russian dairy fish soups on here guys. I'm really curious about those.
Nobody speaks too highly of cold country cuisine like they do other stuff. It's not represented enough in my opinion.

Yeah we have those too but it's kinda dying breed. Had some cold soup couple times when I was younger and visiting my grandparents. I like mine with pickled gherkins and hard-boiled egg.

I don't know why you Americans always harp on about that. You just described every first world city on Earth.
