This. I've eaten them together at soul food places just because they were the best thing on the menu, but the combination is pretty pointless.

I'd rather have greens and potatoes with gravy with my chicken, and I'd rather eat waffles for breakfast with other breakfast meats (the saltiness of which goes better with syrup than chicken).

there's some random soul food restaurant in my whitey, upper-middle-class town. I had chicken and waffles once, it was pretty tasty; I the waffle was hearty and savory, not like a breakfast waffle. I prefer them with grits on the side.

Peach Valley (a regional chain that does breakfast & lunch) does a really tasty Chicken & Waffles with a spicy Cajun syrup and strawberry butter that's the tits! The syrup and the chicken goes really great along with the waffle.
