Carl's Jnr recently opened a few stores in my city and I have been there twice now, most recently today and have tried roughly four of their burgers. Is it just me or are they more dry than other places? (E.g Wendys is always juicy). However I like the free refills and the price is very reasonable for what you get. The chips are mediocre criss-cut and normal.

What would you recommend trying if I go again? The buttermilk chicken burger was good but a tad small and the thickburger wasn't that thick

Western bacon cheesburger with those waffle fry things

Haven't been somewhere with Carl's Jr in a while, but when I was the Western burger (the one with onion rings on it) was a guilty pleasure.

>> No.4205725

don't get that Western burger thing, the one with waffle fries and onion rings. it fucking sucks.

Yes, the Carl's Jr beef tends to be a little dry and tasteless. For that reason, they're not one of my favorites, even though we've had them forever and I ate their double western bcb almost every day in college (which for some reason tasted a lot better back then).

Never again, went into the one in Avondale it was grotty full of fat boongas and they had legit retards working as cashiers. Everyone raves about it, Wendy's is so much better imo

>> No.4205946

Their beef is a little crumbly and loose too. No way their "six dollar burger' is comparable to the kind of $6 burgers you get at nicer restaurants.

Somehow they have their huge fans though. We have a national sportscaster in the U.S., Bob Costas, who claims that he craves Carl's Jr. whenever he comes to the west coast, not In-n-Out. But he's a dumbass, so...

I get coupons in the mail so I like them more with the deals.

I LOVE the Monster Biscuits. 2 for $3 (1.50 ea) is a great deal considering McDonalds egg mcmuffin is around 2.00 and gives you WAY less than what's on the monster biscuit. I thing reg price of the monster biscuit is like $3 ea or so. I probably wouldn't pay that.

honorable mentions:
jalapeno handbreaded chicken tender sandwich
2 for $5 coupon
famous star for 2 for $3
western bacon cheeseburger 2 for $4
handscooped ice cream sandwich 2 for $2
before they had the taco salad 2 for $6
normal price for one was around $6

Here in the southeast USA, it's Hardees instead of Carl's Jr. Their burgers are good here at least, way better than Wendy's, McDonalds, or Burger King. Plus the 2 in my city have a discount for local college students, buy any thickburger and get a free fry and drink. You can pay the small upsize charge if you want large. It's pretty awesome.
I've always found their burgers to be pretty juicy. Not as good as a real restaurant burger, but for fast food, really good.

> no mention of their cinnamon raisin biscuits with frosting..

Their hashbrowns are good, I liked the grilled frisco sandwich a lot. Dat soft buttery sourdough...

Used to go to hardees/carls the most compared to other places as a kid/teen. They they got the thickburgers and it was no longer affordable.

Carl's Jr is one of my favorite fast food places. I don't eat fast food but when I do it's usually Carl's Jr. I just get the big burger with cheese but I'm pretty impressed with how many different burgers there are. As far as disgusting fast food goes Carl's Jr is pretty good..the meat actually tastes like meat, which is a plus.
