So i see a lot of people posting about how much they love this...
Is that a troll? I cant figure it out.
This is one of the most disgusting things ive ever tasted and I hate you guys for hyping it so much.
The bun is too hard and tastes like this, the onions dont go with the pickles or "rib" at all, and they meat itself tastes like a disaster.
The only redeeming quialities are the pickles and the sauce (which they dont put enough on)
You guys owe me about 3 dollars.

(“More than 70 ingredients make up the McRib and, yes, one of them is pork. But as CBS 2’s Vince Gerasole reports, there’s also an ingredient that can be found in shoes... [Registered dietician Cassie] Vanderwall gave the McRib a closer look and found the McRib has azodicarbonamide, which is used to bleach the flour in bread. It has other uses. 'It could be on your yoga mat, in your gym shoes, in your anything that’s rubbery,' Vanderwall said...)

Congratulations, you have standards.

I bet it also contains dihydrogen monoxide, a notable carcinogen that has caused severe health issues and even death.

They should ban this shit.

Yes, water is a chemical, therefore all chemicals are good for you.

It's for the same reason people like Oreos, doritos, or applebees.

Plebs with shitty taste don't know any better or have the palates of children.

McRibs suck, and I don't know how you could want more sauce, because when I tried it, it had so much sauce that it was falling out of the fucking bun. Just like their previous angus where "you could never have too much sauce."

It's the same kind of stupid argument that because this chemical is used in industrial applications, it must be bad to have in your food. They didn't even bother trotting out dubious small-sample clinical trials suggesting it's a carcinogen or actually, you know, has any effect on your health.

I've never had a whole McRib myself but a friend once let me taste a piece of his. I concur with just about everything you said OP. I think their only redeeming quality (and the reason people enjoy these things) is the sauce.

Let's face it; the other ingredients would be all but tasteless were it not for the massive amounts of sodium. The sauce is the only component with with some complexity in it and they apply that shit liberally. It's sweet, salty, and a little smoky all at once. That's why /ck/ has such a raging boner over these things.

Here in Germany they're on the regular menu. I think it's not too bad but nothing I'd really get while being at McDonalds once or twice a month.
I don't consider myself to have a pleb taste, but who gives a shit anyway.

Know what they should do?

A double McRib, or a Big McRib.

Also it's not awesome but the sauce is mighty tasty.

It's viral marketing.

It's hyped and publicised, everyone thinks "Hey I kind of wanna try one," they try it, they hate it, and it goes away. Next year though, it gets hyped again, and the people who hated it think "hm, well, everyone says I should like it, so I should try it again."

Repeat ad nauseum. This is the marketing world for ya.

Also, for the few edgy rebels, they throw out a few "it was disgusting dont bother"'s so even the fringe groups will try their shit.

A boneless meat patty pressed and molded so that it appears to have bones in it. No thanks, the concept and product are bullshit. If for some reason I am forced under circumstance to eat McDonalds the only halfway decent thing they have is the big mac. Those, those are OK.

Pic related. A McRib patty with the sauce washed off.
