So what do you guys always keep on hand? Anything special? That one spice you have to run out for as soon as you run out, a canned good, sriracha, etc?

Maybe it's just someone trying to learn more about basic stocking and cooking. /ck/ doesn't need your shit, not every question asked is a reddit user's post.

If's there any kind of unique or interesting thread on /ck/, you can bet money that some asshole will get mad about it.

As for me OP, I always need some kind of ranch dressing for my pleb tastes, and garlic and onion (or garlic and onion powder) and olive oil.

I always have at least one of three hot sauces: Cholula, Frank's, or Sriracha

All basic Italian seasonings, and vinaigrette dressings. Also I somehow manage to have a fair amount of zafron in the home without trying.

Pantry: I always keep various canned tomatoes on hand: sauce, diced, crushed, san marzano, tomato paste. Both regular and extra virgin olive oil, some peanut or canola oil, several types of vinegar, soy sauce, hot sauces, chicken and beef broth, teriyaki sauce. For dry goods, I always have some rolled oats, white, brown, and jasmine rice, cous cous, various types of pasta, various beans and some lentils, various spices, black pepper, kosher and sea salt, flour, sugar, honey, yeast, baking powder and baking soda. Oh, and flour or corn tortillas, sourdough bread, english muffins.

Vegetables/fruit: fresh broccoli, onions, garlic, bell peppers, tomatoes, green onions, parsley, bay leaves, cilantro, carrots, celery, limes, lemons, bananas, apples and oranges depending on what's in season. In the spring/summer/fall I usually have a bunch of fresh herbs from the garden available too. I also always keep frozen peas, green beans, corn and sometimes broccoli/cauliflower on hand as well.

Meat: I tend to buy stuff when I find something decent on sale, but usually always have one or two whole chickens, chicken breasts, pork loin, pork shoulder, pork chops, hamburger, a couple different types of sausage all in the freezer.

In the fridge: I keep milk, eggs, butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese, sliced cold cuts and cheese for sandwiches, blocks and/or shredded cheddar and jack, fresh mozzarella, goat cheese, pickles, olives, condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, jam/jelly, salsa, etc.)

Probably more shit that I'm forgetting but I think that covers it. I like to have a well stocked kitchen so I can have stuff on hand to make whatever I feel in the mood to make at the time.
