Best brands of gin?

I've heard beefeater is pretty good. I don't want anything too expensive, just a middle tier gin would suffice

>> No.4171376

fuck it, just make your own.

>> No.4171381

Bombay sapphire is your best bet mate, or if you cant afford it, Gordons. But I guess if your in the states Tanquray will suffice.

>> No.4171377

Bombay Sapphire
or, if you want cheaper but still decent, New Amsterdam.

>> No.4171386

Tanqueray's alright.
dollar more than Bombay or Beefeater and doesn't taste as strongly of pine-sol

Oh god, I had a neighbor who gave me some honest to goodness bathtub gin from London.
It's one of the few times I thought I was going to die from drinking an alcoholic beverage, and I like gin.

Bombay sapphire is fucking pleb tier

Pic is my favourite, floral but not overly perfumed, the juniper is only one aspect while still being strong enough to be noticed.

Hendricks is also good, tanq no 10 is overpriced but good, the regular tanq is my well brand of choice. Bombay, beefeater and gordon's are all fine well brand choices.

/ck/ tells me hendricks is the best, I am unable to make my own decisions so I have no choice but to believe them

I pretty much like most gins but since I know you guys like tiers, I made tiers. Hopefully this should help those of you who refuse to do the hard work and just drink everything in sight. If there's anything really important I left out (and I left out a lot), feel free to edit and repost.

Hendricks is always the winner of this argument

Bombay Sapphire is a really sweet gin, and the flavor profile is also more floral. Personally I don't really think of it as gin.

Standard gins: Bombay (regular), Tanqueray, Gordon's

Top shelf: Plymouth

Specialty gins: Hendrick's (cucumbers n shit), Ransom (kickass old style), Junipero (like the name says)

>>4171453
I'd try to keep the rankings just "London Dry" and put genevers, old tom etc on the side. And Plymouth belongs in the top tier.

I thought about that but as soon as you open that can of worms, it becomes an actual project requiring actual thought and a much wider range of gins, and I'm too lazy for the 40 minutes of google image search and struggling with MS Paint.

But you're right, of course.

Understood, we're all lazy here. Maybe I'll open up the GIMP and give it a shot.

Have you tried the Naval Strength? I've never been able to find it in the States.

>> No.4172303

Bluecoat, Junipero are my favorites. I am a fan of Plymouth, Hendricks, and Bulldog as well.

>> No.4172696

Bombay Sapphire is the Jack Daniels of gin. Not the best, but good, available everywhere, and neutrally flavored.

>> No.4173047

Hendricks and plymouth are my favorite but bombay saphire is decent at best. If you want some good american gin try Voyager, Leopolds, Silvertip, and Dogfishhead.

I like beefeater, Bombay and their sapphire are good too.

OP here

Last night I went ahead and bought some Tanqueray Rangpur and made some gin and tonics. It was pretty damn good.
