Don't mind me, just digesting this delicious lobster roll. What are your favorite lobster dishes, /ck/?

>> No.4149397

I have been wanting a lobster roll for well over a year. I live in downriver Detroit. Nowhere, for hundreds of miles is one available for purchase.

That's fucking lame. You could make it yourself, but I've never been able to replicate what I get at restaurants.

This thread is bound to fail, very little people on this board can actually afford lobster.

I'd have to say lobster bisque is my favorite lobster dish.

>> No.4149508

>>4149503

I can afford it just fine, I just don't like it very much.

About once a year I'll order lobster at a restaurant in case I changed my mind. Turns out nope, still haven't.

Is the idea of eating lobster tail as disgusting for anyone else as it is for me? I will gladly eat meat and seafood, but lobster? Christ.

>> No.4149533

>>4149518

It's not disgusting at all, it's just not very appealing. Yay a bunch of chewy, fibrous sweet meat that I'm supposed to get really excited over because it's "expensive". Seriously what's the appeal? Sure it's better than tilapia or past-its-prime swordfish, but I'd much rather eat sea bass, crab, scallops, caviar, salmon, monkfish, dover sole, mackerel, or about a hundred other things.

It was considered trash fish until not too long ago, so I doubt you're the only one.

>> No.4149549

Butter poached lobster, without a doubt.
I only do this every couple months though. Not because of the price of lobster, because where I live it's not that expensive, but because of the price of butter. It takes a metric fuckton of butter to make enough clarified butter to poach a lobster in. However, it's sooooo worth it. The most tender, buttery, exquisitely flavored lobster you can imagine. It's the bone marrow of seafood.

They're good but I don't think lobster is good enough to justify the price of it. I'd rather have crab.

I love lobster. I wish I could eat it more often.

Anyways, I just prefer the whole thing, and cracking it open and eating it. I don't even use drawn butter or anything that much.

I could eat an all-seafood diet without fail.

Are you saying that lobster is cheap in MD? I know crab is. I prefer snow crab though

>> No.4150081

Why would anyone eat snow crab in an area where blue crab is available? It's completely flavorless.

Yeah, I always save and freeze that lobster butter and use it for making bisques, chowders, sauces, etc. NICE.

>> No.4150098

Because it's not a lot of tasty meat for a fair amount of work, where as snowcrab is a lot of meh meat for not a lot of work
