Anyone else wish bachelor chow was real

>> No.4147084

yeah actually
buy it in bulk, never worry about packing lunches for work or skipping breakfast.

and it'd make actual prepared meals more important, like a special treat. going out for a steak once a month would be magical.

You can buy monkey chow and eat that. Theres something floating around the tubes of someone moving to that diet and going insane within a week.

I'm suprised that nothing like that already exists.
Fully balanced nutrional meal in flavor X pellets/chunks/bars etc.

>purposely eat cheap garbage food constantly just to make normal food taste better

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry. You know you could always just refrain from eating steak for a bit, eat other things for a while, THEN go and get a good steak. Same effect and you don't have to eat dog food.

In england, you can but a tin of curry for about 20p. Its basically wet dog food with cumin.

>> No.4147210

There's any number of things that you can eat exclusively and have it be fairly healthy. You could eat eggs for every meal. The only thing that doesn't have is vitamin C. Or you could eat beans and cabbage or something. Thing is if it existed it would probably taste like shit and would at least be mundane.

>> No.4147223

How do they get the cumin?

Interesting thought. Is there any sort of food that can be eaten by itself for a long time with no effect on ones health? Someone told me you could live off tins of beans and remain healthy, that's why homeless people eat them.

Make this into kibbles and you've got bachelor chow. It's what they serve prisoners when they can't be trusted with regular food.

This seems like such a good idea for disaster relief. A food that contains all of your vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein, fat etc in a long storage package. Campers, governments that like to look good with disaster aid, poor students and prepper community would go nuts for the stuff.

Looks interesting. Yuro here and I assume the temp is in F? Also do you know how long this would last? If you can freeze or re-heat it etc... I like to camp and this seems like a life saver to just put in my backpack and go. We don't get the meatloaf stuff this is compared to on google so it is new to me.

What about canned beans, with ground vitamin pills mixed in and oats for fiber. Maybe some fruits or vegetables and nuts. Mix it all together and put it in a dehydrator. Cut into cubes. Sounds disgusting but it would have everything you need to survive and the dehydration would make it last a while if put in a mylar back and vack-packed.

It keeps well but you wouldn't eat it out of choice. See how OP's pic says "now with flavor"? This doesn't have flavor. Might be alright with a few tweaks though.

It's called cereal.

Seriously. You get a bland bowl of soggy shit that you eat daily because you're lazy.

Just buy more of it and eat it for lunch and dinner.

Cereal is low on nutrient and doesn't even have practically any protein. Cereal is just filler and sugar, not food.

>> No.4147874

Last night I ate an entire tin of minced corned beef. 10 ounces, 720 kcal, north of 70 g protein and looks exactly like cheap dog food. Just dug in with a fork. If it weren't so pricey for the weight (calories are solid for $4 though) I'd say it's the damn nearest thing you'll find to bachelor chow. Made of lips and anus I'm sure.

Unless there's something shocking I don't know about the flavor, the only thing stopping me from eating dog food is the distinctive smell. One errant whiff or burp and the jig is up. Otherwise it's good enough for me if it's good enough for Fido. Just throwing that out there. Under $1/lb for meat in sauce.
