Spices come from berries and pods which are fruits

Herbs comes from the leaves of flowering plants

Salt comes from sea water and mines and is a mineral

Salt people: Salt isn't a spice, it is a mineral. Spices are generally the 'harder' bits of a plant, while herbs are generally the leaves, flowers, etc. Soft bits.

You can be good at cooking even if you can't categorize your seasonings.

It's like having English as your mother tongue, and being unable to recognize the sentence "He had been cooking," as an example of the past perfect progressive verb tense.

A good cook will simply know which flavours and seasonings work well together, and doesn't need to know that black pepper is a spice, while salt is not.

Last time I checked salt is not a carbon compound, and all salt is naturally occurring, mined, ground, and purified, or possibly from filtered seawater which is then dried.

Why would you label salt as organic again?

It's your responsibility to explain why you think clay flecks in your salt make you healthier.

"At least 80 minerals not found in table salt" isn't all that promising when 98% of it is sodium chloride and out of the final 2% of impurities most of it is gypsum and clay.
