What is your opinion on menudo? Being Mexican American it is one of my favorite foods (my grandma makes it every christmas) but I feel like if I were born into another culture I would find it disgusting.

>> No.4127813

It's as good as long as it's clean. I don't care what animal the digestive parts came from, but if I taste barnyard, I'm not going to eat it. Clean that shit properly.

>> No.4127818

ugh i hate menudo, it's way too fatty and gelatinous for me. now posole on the other hand is great

>surrounded by lots mexicans
>worked/socialize with mexicans constantly

Love it. Mexican food is my deal. Myself and my family love to make it and eat it constantly.

It's more from my mother growing up with straight wetbacks but I love it. Walking into Mexican parts of town in an oxford and peacoat, and ordering some dirty ass tacos is quite hilarious.

This is interesting because I have some in-laws that also take pride in their menudo (whenever I go over and they are making it they ask me if it's good and I say "its delicious" but its actually a little bland) and my side of the family always says that its because they clean it TOO much.

Pick one. I know you can't, I can't either. It's ok.

On the contrary. It looks unfamiliar but appetizing.

Asian here.

Menudo depends on it's quality, if you dont know how to clean the stomach right or brine it at all it has a dirty taste to it. My mom knows how to clean parts of the animal most people throw away so i know the taste of bad organs or innards.

Pretty sure anon just meant to say it because it's not really "menudo" if it's asian tripe stew. Koreans and Chineses love dat tripe too, but it's different ingredients.

I'll likely never be able to eat menudo. My dad made it occasionally while I was growing up, and it would stink up the entire fucking house for days.

I've never tried it, but god damn, that smell was revolting.
