Can I melt chocolate truffles in milk to make hot chocolate

>> No.4115012

No. You'd just get chocolate floating on top of milk.

>> No.4115026

No, but making regular hot chocolate and dropping one of those lindt truffles in it tastes godly.

Yes.
Melt the chocolate truffle first in a double boiler (one pot/bowl nested in a pot of water on the stove) then add in your milk and continue to cook until it's warm.

you're welcome

Too much fat. Won't be nice. Like butter floating on milk.

Milk is just a fat colloid, I don't think it would be a problem.

I've done this a few times when I was a kid. I grabbed whatever pieces of chocolate I could find and put them at the bottom of a mug of milk to microwave, then added some instant cocoa mix. It does get very lumpy but just stir it some more when it does, it tastes pretty damn good if you don't mind the texture.

Worst case scenario, you get a spoonful of some melted chocolate to eat at the bottom of your mug.

Truffle = Chocolate + cream.

Yes.
