British food is basically a science about taking all the good cuts of meat off an animal, throwing it away, then taking the very worst parts of an animal and giving it a dessert sounding name to trick you into thinking it's not bile.

british cuisine is the finest dining experience to be had, outside of the southern USA.

british cuisine is a contradiction of terms

I do seafloor mapping and for a while we had an English cook aboard. His favorite thing to do was take a beautiful roast, throw it into a pot of water, and boil it all day until it was a grey, flavorless, mushy mass.

We forced him to buy spices the next time we stopped at a port for fuel.

One thing I've noticed about British cuisine is that while a lot of it isn't that great, the things that are good are really seriously amazingly fucking good.

Like pork pies, which are actually cooked with meat in a normal, humane manner

the way you can tell if food is good or not is if its being eaten in areas without a sizable demographic from or with heritage from the country of origin. nobody eats british food, in fact british people dont even like british food for the most part which is why all the traditional recipes are dying out. the national dish is indian for fuggs sake.

You might want to take a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Raj
I'm fairly sure most British people like British food. The main exception is things like offal, which isn't all that popular, however there are quite a number of famous people who support it (Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Fergus Henderson).
Where do you live?

most retarded thing I have read today. And implies you have no understanding of geo-social environments and their influence on local foods.
For example: English food has grown out of an extremely opulent society. The reason, for example, Asians aren't eating bacon and eggs for breakfast and roast beef with yorkshire pudding for dinner is because their isn't the supply of resources.

you would have a valid point if we did not live in a global world, all first world countries have the same access to imports. local food is so unimportant that the food industry is actually forcing it down peoples throats.

You must be American or something. Keep taking your mixed heritage for granted. Meanwhile, how much do you know about central asian cuisine, or south pacific cuisine, or central african cuisine just to name a few?
