Why are they even left on then? most things on sushi, decorative as they may be - will add to the flavor and make the sushi more enjoyable. So why would they leave the horrible inedible tail on the shrimp one?

I like how you pretend to be able to know how thick the fish slices are despite this being a birds-eye shot. You would need a profile shot to properly analyze just how thick those slices are. I spent much more on sushi the last time I bought and it wasn't considered that great.

Seeing as how I haven't had "cheap" sushi that wasn't something atrocious like California rolls, I'm curious to try Japan's cheap sushi.
