What are your cheap foods/recipes?

Here's a few of the dishes I make to save money, followed by the price per unit (for everything).

Ground Turkey and Rotini
Rotini- 1.50
1.2 lbs Ground Turkey- 3.49
Prego- .60 per serving
Total - 5.59 or 2.80 Per meal. This can be two meals

Ramen and Eggs
(2) Ramen - .30
(2) Eggs- .30
Total- .60 for the meal

Breakfast Smoothy
Spinach - about .90 per handful
blackberries-- about 1.00 per handful
strawberries - about 1.00
baby carrots- about .50
banana - .35
scoop of protein - .40
total- about 4.15 for two servings. Jamba Juice is nearly 6.00 for one serving

and then of course PB&J etc.

What are your favorite cheap meals that are easy to prepare, good and inexpensive?

>implying rice with butter is bad

You're just one of those food hipsters that likes to act like ketchup is some horrible shit, aren't you. If it was some obscure ketchup that was expensive as hell and called something other than ketchup, you'd love that shit.

good one. I'm something of a survialist so i have over 50lbs of Rice and Beans.

I've taken to mixing in Taco Bell "Fire" Hot Sauce packets into the rice to give it more of a zing.

Way I see it, once the zombie apocolypse comes, I may very well be suriving off of nothing but rice and beans so I better get used to the taste of it now.

Got anything for beans?

>Kidney beans
>mushrooms
>chilli peppers
>garlic
>tex mex seasoning

Takes 5 minutes and is tasty as fuck. You should put that shit in tortillas but you don't have to if you're being hunted by zombies. Tex mex seasoning is really easy to make too.

No dude, I love spicy ketchup. I have it on the side with all my meats and fries. The combination with rice just seriously made my stomach turn. And I never implied rice with butter is bad, in fact a good pilaf is always made with both butter and oil.

No need to get your panties in a bunch

i make a big batch of rice every three days. make rice and beans for lunch, and then fried rice for dinner. served with some different kind of protein each meal (eggs, salmon, tuna, pork, chicken breast, etc)

I eat off less than $100/month. could probably halve that if i didn't buy luxuries like cheese and fresh roasted coffee

>less then $100 a month
>mfw I spend that in a week alone.
Why do I abruptly feel so 1%?

Vinegar, 1gallon/4 litres for $1,49US, using 1 cup/250ml, so 10¢
Soy sauce, 1 litre bottle is $1,49, using ⅓ cup/80ml so 13¢
Fish sauce, same price and measurement as soy sauce
Oyster sauce, $2,19 for 1 litre, using ⅓ cup/80ml so 19¢.
Black peppercorns, 4½oz/128g for $2, 1tbsp weighs 5g, so 8¢.
Garlic, 5 heads/bulbs for $1, using about an eighth to a sixth of a whole head's-worth of cloves, so about 4¢.
Laurels/bay leaves are $1 for a bag, using about a tenth of it, so 10¢.
Chicken thighs, 89¢ for a pound.
Spinach, $2 for a pound.
Rice, $20 for 25lbs, using three cups to cook four servings, each cup of rice weighs 200g, so about $1,06 for all the rice.

So... that's $2.75 for four servings of chicken adobo with rice and garlic-sautéed spinach or 69¢ per serving. Yeah. Nah. You're a cunt.

Derp, I maffed wrong. Redid it cuz $2,72 (which is what I got before rounding up to $2,75) seemed off, then I noticed I forgot to add the spinach.
$4.75 for the four servings and $1.19 per.
Sorry about that. OP's still a cunt, though.
