Come behold REAL butter, not that anemic, pasty, white, tasteless, bland "Land-o-Lakes" crap....

In all seriousness, how many of you amerifats here on /ck/ know about this stuff???

Go to bed, Sean. You're drunk again.

seen it but never tried it, whats the difference between that and butter you commonly find in the markets?

OP here, not sure who 'Sean' is....

Just happen to love this stuff!

Taste, texture, body...it's far and away superior to supermarket butter. Some supermarkets carry it (Publix does down here)....try some, and you'll never go back to LoL again!

fuck it i'll chuck it in my cart next time

Amerifat here. Yup, I have used it. It is superior, but pretty pricey. If a recipe calls for clarified butter though, it's tops.

>> No.4057498

American here. Kerrygold is fucking amazing, but for us it is not an everyday thing. Land-o-lakes shit to put on my toast in the morning, but Kerrygold for buttering shit on holidays

>> No.4057504

OP here, c'mon people, splurge the extra $1.50 for the good shit!

I use this for everything from topping on my "English Muffins" to cooking....it's well worth the extra price! Put it next to a pat of "Land of Lakes" and you can just see how different they are!

>> No.4057505

Yeah, kerrygold is awesome. So is Lurpak (Danish). My local supermarket carries both.

You probably already have, many times.

Kerrygold is pretty good.
I use it for toast, and buy LoL or whatever is available for cooking everything else.

I believe Trader Joe's sells it for a reduced price. But don't quote me on that.

I don't think so TIM...I'm pretty sure I don't have AIDS or water born pathogens.

uk fag here. originally from the us . can confirm way more attention is payed to diet and nutrition in cows here and in ireland and the meats, and dairies are better quality for the same price as in the states. kerrygold is run of the mill butter here you pick it up at the off license (basicaly a kwik e mart) there are way better butters. the cheddar here is naturally yellowy orange in spring too. comes from something that grows in the fields. your american cheddar is dyed with annato to mimic good spring cheddar.

Needs more Normandy style.

>> No.4057737

Also.

>>4057513

Ghee and butter do not play all the same rolls.

I can clarify my own butter. Incorporating milk solids into fat however is much more difficult.

American, here, and yeah my local supermarket carries Kerrygold - about $6 for a small block. I use it on small things: english muffins, toast, bagels, etc. so I can actually taste the butter, since it's got such a nice, rich taste. Wouldn't dream of using something that expensive in everyday cooking though. I make my own butter at home for cooking, but have to admit it doesn't have as good a taste as Kerrygold, but, U.S. dairy standards are shit - you get out what you put in, I suppose.

>> No.4057753

bitches don't know 'bout my local dairy farm.

fresh butter and gourmette chweezes erry day. plus grass fed so tastes butter. a ahhah punny.

>> No.4057754

Been curious about it but it's expensive as fuck where I am.
