So I'm backpacking in Australia at the moment and I met a French couple who one evening offered to cook some Pasta Carbonara for me (I'm hopeless at cooking so was quick to accept.)

> Cooks up some pasta
> Slices up some bacon and cooks it
> Throws the bacon into the pasta
> Plates it
> Tells me to add sour cream and shredded cheese
> Mix it up

Wasn't what I was expecting, dunno if it's a French version, a traveller's version or just a cheap take of Carbonara but it tasted good.

Anyone know of any other recipes like this?

I think carbonara has turned into yet another shitpost subject in fashion of steaks, tipping and ramen. The only situations where it is posted is when some shitheel tries to stir up indignation in people who actually cook, or once in a blue moon when an actual clueless americlap shows up.
