Knock egg gently on the pan edge, so that the shell cracks and caves in slightly. Do not aim to "cut" the egg with the hard surface. Cracking is enough. Then, either using your both thumbs on opposite sides of the crack, pull away from eachother. And if you want to learn to quickly crack eggs straight away, take the egg in a single hand, place your middle finger on the lower lip of the crack intentionally breaking it a little, and pull away with your thumb and index finger. Your fingers will get wet, but thankfully we always wash our hands very very thoroughly, and keep our nails well-clipped.

My friend did something like this once, it was the most retarded thing I've ever experience by someone over the age of 18.
