Hey guys. Looking to start drinking more red wines since I've realised I enjoy it more recently.

What are some good reds to look into? Ausfag here so anything region specific would be helpful.

What does /ck/ drink?

For the most part we only drink Sailor Jerry, 25000 IBU IPAs, and Lafroog.

As an Australian you have a lot of Shiraz, much of which is horrible but some of which is alright. I assume you have better access to the good ones so I'll just say try one of our murkin Zinfandels, they're also pretty likeable big bold reds. Pic related, I drank it earlier this week but it may be hard to find in Australia. Ridge is a label that you should be able to find, their products are always reliable and good, and I don't think they do anything but Zinfandel.

Much appreciated advice, will have a look for some tomorrow.

Going to a small house gathering so want to have something nice and new to try out.

Gonna be that cunt sitting there with a bottle of red while the others drink JD from the bottle.

Now where'd I put my monocle

I too enjoy undrinkable oak bombs with 15.5% alcohol and enough residual sugar to make your teeth fall out. Fuck that obsolete French garbage that is actually meant for drinking and not winning over a loudmouth American wine critic.

I'm a sucker for cheap Beaujolais, Chianti or Malbec. I haven't really liked the Cabernet Sauvignons or Pinot Noirs that I've tried.

Chilean Cabernet sauvignons. I like the ones that taste of blackcurrents and cherries with orange and tobacco follow through.

Cherry wine is the best red wine.
