I like ketchup with certain foods, but that's it. I think I got turned off by my sibling, who used to (and still does) put ketchup on EVERYTHING. I remember sitting across the table and watching her put ketchup all over her corn and mix it around on her plate (it was a dinner of steak, corn, and salad) and then drench her steak in it, and by the time she was done, it looked like a plate of bloody feces. After watching that kind of shit while growing up, I don't care for ketchup very much. But I do like it with fries and a few other foods.

I know these threads are a bit on the trollish side but do you guys seriously not like ketchup? It goes well with a lot of fried foods, what's better on fries than ketchup? I eat it on hamburgers and hot dogs as well and lately I've been using it to add to certain sauces to change the texture/colour.

I like ketchup. It has it's place though, I don't like to eat it on EVERY single thing but I like it on fries and sometimes on a cheap hotdog (1$ pack red hotdogs). I don't have a problem with it on fried catfish either. I don't like it on steak, I don't care for it on sandwiches, BUT my dad used to put it in his red beans and rice and for some reason it tastes good that way. (probably more nostalgia than anything)

I only care if someone else uses ketchup if they haven't tasted a dish that I made prior to dousing it in Heinz, other than a burger or dog of course.

oh....plenty of things!!! one of my favorite combinations is malt vinegar and fresh crushed garlic. another favorite is truffle oil and crumbled blue cheese. even if you just wanna use a sauce for fries there are so many better sauces than ketchup.

Any mayonnaise-based sauce. Or even just plain mayonnaise.

>fry sauce (which admittedly contains ketchup)
>thousand island dressing (also contains ketchup and is called "spread" at In-N-Out)
>honey mustard dressing

I stopped buying ketchup completely. More room in the fridge and fewer single-purpose ingredients. You can make some stuff with ketchup (like the aforementioned fry sauce), but you can also just use tomato sauce or paste (which also has dozens of uses).

So, really, fry sauce and thousand island do not even really need ketchup.

I still like ketchup on occasion, though.

I've had my variety of mayo based sauces with fries and none of them are as good as ketchup. Tatar sauce only goes well with fish. Your other options aren't even that good with other foods.

Fellow Canadian mustard face here. How can you only know one person who puts vinegar on fries? Any decent place that serves fries has a bottle of malt vinegar on the table.

As for ketchup, I only really eat it with omelets or scrambled eggs. I don't now why but I can't eat either without getting sick of the taste half way through.
