I have never seen a polish food thread on /ck/.

Fixing this gross injustice.

Excellent choice of word

I am opening an Eastern European restaurant later on in life.

>> No.3915057

Exactly, gross.

>> No.3915062

Perhaps a platter of bland, greasy, half burnt foods wasn't the best choice to cultivate interest, OP.

>> No.3915393

Probably because Poland cant into cooking.

>Have a good Polish friend
>Go to his house once back in high school
>His mother insists of making traditional Polish food for me
>Pickled mushroom and the strangest looking meat I've ever seen
>Don't want to be rude, so hesitate a little bit, then force it into my mouth
>It tastes delicious

I was actually pleasantly surprised, because it looked awful.

one of my old friends moms used to give me perogies filled with sauerkraut or potato and cheese/bacon

I miss those

I make perogies sometimes. It's been a thing handed down from my mother's side. Now I just make my own and top them with fried onions, bacon and sour cream. This is the last time I made them. It took me two sitting to eat that whole plate.

Care to identify that?

>> No.3915533

Looks like British food.
That's a bad sign right there.

>> No.3915540

Pierogies are amazing. I also love crusticki. It's comfort food.

>> No.3915570

My gf is Ukrainian... I grew up eating lots of diverse ethnic foods and she grew up eating meat, potatoes, and cabbage.

I like cabbage rolls and their fried chicken, but perogies are not my thing. I can enjoy maybe 2 (covered in sour cream and caramelized onions mind you), then it becomes very tedious.

mmmmm dough wrapped around potatoes!!! Needs to be served between two pieces of bread with a side of pasta.

>> No.3915703

>>3915570

you dont need to just stuff potatoes in there. sauerkraut and ham pierogies are incredible

>> No.3915748

Good job, OP you asshole. Now I'm jonesing for some fried cheese and potato pierogi, compote, and polish mead.

Pączkis!

Mid-tier doughnuts, but here's what amuses me about them. The whole Catholic world goes nuts before Lent. Unbelievable drunkeness at Mardi Gras, orgies in the street at Carnival, etc.
And how do those crazy-ass Poles cut loose?
By eating a few more of these than usual.
Stay wild Poles.

>> No.3916273

it's sad how ignorant people are. it looks nothing like polish food, op.

>> No.3916287

I'm polish and I haven't seen anything from that pic in my life, except for that one thing I suspect is a pierog.

op's pic is probably the most unappetizing dish I have ever seen on /ck/, and this does not necessarily exclude food gore threads.

If the internet had existed in 1939 I dont think we would have invaded.

Certainly a superior sweet, I bow in deference to your sugary one-ups-manship.
But then I couldn't have cracked wise about the whole Lent thing.
Is kielbasa Polish? dats a pretty good sausage.
