Spicy black bean soup:

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large onion, diced
5-6 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
4 cans (15-16 oz each) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 tablespoon cumin
1/4-1/2 teaspoon chipotle powder (or cayenne)
2 tablespoons lime juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 bunch cilantro, washed and finely chopped

In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Cook the onion for about 5 minutes until it softens. Add the garlic and stir, cooking another 2-3 minutes. Add the broth and about 1/2 cup water, beans, lime juice, cumin and chipotle/cayenne. Stir to combine. Turn up the heat and bring to a simmer, then cover and lower the temperature. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Check to see if you need more liquid, check for seasoning and add salt and pepper as needed. Take about 1/2 of the beans, let them cool to room temperature, and put in a blender. Add enough of the soup liquid to make a puree, and add about 1/3 cup cilantro (if you're using it) before pureeing. Stir this mixture back into the rest of the soup, then serve either as is or over rice.

This is a complete Southern-style meal. It's about $8 if you don't buy in bulk.

Soak the pinto beans overnight, drain, rinse, boil, and reduce to a simmer. I add a whole onion and lightly crushed, whole garlic cloves. I don't like the texture of cooked onion and garlic, so this makes it easier to remove. Add the ham hock. Cook until beans are tender. Remove the ham hock and let it cool. Remove the meat and add it back to the pot. Season to taste.

Roast the chicken with salt and pepper. Make the rice in your pot or rice cooker.

Serve with hot sauce and raw vegetables like sliced tomatoes, cucumber, onion, etc.

rice
sausages
leek
peppercorn sauce

chop and boil the leek (and any other optional veg) until boiling, then strain most of the water (leaving about an inch depth in a medium sized pot) Add the sauce and simmer until nice and creamy. fry or grill a bunch of sausages separately, chop and add to sauce once cooked

boil about 250-330g of rice (enough to last a few days) and mix them all together. be sure and keep it in an airtight container in the fridge. It actually gets nicer after a few days, though the rice may become a bit mushy

I make it often; it feeds me well for 4 days and it costs me around 4-5 euros to make

My nigga.

I just don't understand why you would want to put anything under the hot patty. Makes no sense to me.

>> No.3880311

>>3880280
i put my veggies under the hamburger patty. my reasoning is that the heat from the meat will rise up and steam the bun, but if the veggies were above it then they would get all hot and soggy. also, if you put the meat on top of the veggies then the drippings will run into them which will give them flavor. they also help trap the drippings before they soak into the bun, if you put your meat on the bottom bun then you'll probably have a really wet and soggy bottom bun.

so ya, meat and cheese on top, cool veggies on the bottom. and this only works if you eat it as soon as the meat is placed on the burger, if you let it sit around then the veg will get warm and wilty.

also..

>if you put the meat on top of the veggies then the drippings will run into them which will give them flavor

>but if the veggies were above it then they would get all hot and soggy

You know that those meat drippings are a hot liquid coming from the patty right? That's going to heat the veggies up AND make them soggy to a greater extent than the veggies sitting on top of the patty will.

You suck at logic my friend, just wanted to point that out. Keep making burgers how you like them though, it's not my place to tell another man how he should build his sandwich.

point taken, good sir. i've tried making burgers both ways and have had both countless times and i just prefer my veggies and condiments beneath the meat and cheese. of course it is delicious both ways, its just a personal preference. i respect you're opinion man and do not wish to argue. let us just agree that burgers are delicious and be thankful that we have the privilege to prepare them as we like them! both ways are good.

I like this recipe, it takes about 10 min to make and you can get all the ingredients for <$10 pretty much anywhere:

Ramen stir fry

Buy a pack of ramen & throw away that shitty flavoring pack they come with. Cook the noodles in boiling water for about 2-3min and take them out, then cool them with cold water, drain & set aside.

Chop onion, cabbage (chinese works best) and carrots into bite sized pieces. You can pretty much add any other thing you want besides that. I think mushrooms, beef & sweet pepper go great.

Add a bit of oil (any kind but olive) to a frying pan or wok & stir fry a bit of garlic, then add everything but the noodles for about 3-4 min. Add the noodles & stir for 2 more min. Add soy sauce, pepper, ginger & vinegar (any kind) to taste.

If you want, you can also add a scrambled egg to the wok with the noodles to get more protein.

1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup quinoa
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup minced yellow bell pepper
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (such as Frank's RedHot®)
1 egg
3 tablespoons olive oil
Directions

Bring the quinoa and water to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the quinoa is tender and the water has been absorbed, about 15 to 20 minutes.
Roughly mash the black beans with a fork leaving some whole black beans in a paste-like mixture.
Mix the quinoa, bread crumbs, bell pepper, onion, garlic, cumin, salt, hot pepper sauce, and egg into the black beans using your hands.
Form the black bean mixture into 5 patties.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
Cook the patties in the hot oil until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes per side.

Simple, very hard to fuck up, can substitute.
Tastes like falafel.
