How do you guys manage to keep it under 1500 calories a day?

My food doesn't come with a nutritional label. If I see one in the garden I'll make damn sure to post pics on /ck/.

>> No.3858857

If you're doing it but you're still hungry, you either need to eat more protein and fiber or you need to eat a little more. Vegetables and fruits are very low in calories but are filling. Try eating an extra portion of each per day.

This.

The stretch receptors are one of the biggest things to trigger your brain to stop wanting to eat. Vegetables and fruit are the best way to do this since they are not just empty calories.

Really this. Also, after a while you will learn to love fresh fruits and vegetables. I used to eat crap constantly, now I genuinely prefer the healthier options.

Btw green grapes are fucking god tier. So are fresh apples this time of year.

>> No.3858932

what everyone already said, basically. eat more fruits and veggies, problem solved. you should be aiming at closer to 2000 kcal/day btw.

A good rule of thumb is body mass in lb time 10 to 12 to cut and body mass in lb time 14 to 15 to maintain. Works for me.

>> No.3858960

I struggle to eat more than 1300 calories a day before feeling sick. It sucks.

Anyway OP, as everyone said, have things high in fiber that will fill you up. Veggies! Fruit bowls! etc etc.

>> No.3859947

I wish I could get up to 1500. Get up to about 300-400 and I am stuffed.

Questions for you, OP:

Height & weight?
What kind of food do you typically eat?
Any eating restrictions (aka are you a vegetarian?)
Why are you trying to lose weight?
Are you exercising? If so, what are you doing?

>>3858960

What are you, a fucking chipmunk? Even a 5 foot petite woman needs to eat more than that to maintain. Step it the fuck up you homosexual bag of bones.

Spicy chicken pattie and bun for breakfast - 360
Ramen for lunch - 380
Anything for dinner under 760

Of course thats aiming for 1500, I try to stick at 1200 because Im still losing weight. I only drink flavored water too, that adds up to about 25 calories a day (5 cal per glass). I take a vitamin to offset the lack of nutrition.

When I used to live in India it was easy (but nowadays probably not even there).
Now I live in the urban centre of a fully developed nation, and in between classes/work and everything else the temptation of a cheap, fast, easy, and overly sweetened / fattening food is impossible to avoid, especially if I have to go a long time in between meals due to work/studying.

1200, really? Do you dislike food?

Its no wonder most of you skinny fat people binge eat because you can't seem to establish a god relationship with food. And no, severely under eating like that is not the proper way to lose weight either.

>> No.3860042

I eat about 3600 calories a day since I started my diet two weeks ago. I've already lost 12 pounds.

>> No.3860048

1500 kcal is easy. The 3500 in booze is a doozy.

You can say that again. I never eat more than 800 calories in a day. But I drink 12-14 beers afterward.

Sup, OP. I aim for 1500 calories a day because I'm trying to lose weight as well (5'4 Female, was at 145lb now at 133lb).

This is my meal plan:

Breakfast: 8oz Instant Coffee with a Splash of Skim Milk
(app. 15 calories)

Lunch: Self-made meal that always includes steamed veggies (I buy 1-lb bags of stir fry vegetables from Wal Mart and steam them in the microwave a serving at a time), and often includes either half of a sweet potato or a serving of brown rice or both.
(Goal: 300-400 calories)

Snack: 1 banana (70cal) or one hard boiled egg, plain (70cal) and one 8oz whey protein shake made with skim milk (230cal)
(300 calories)

Supper: Usually leftovers from lunch, possibly with bigger portions or an addition or two
(Goal: 400-500 calories)

Snack: One cup of a "healthy cereal" (ie: bran flakes, plain Cheerios, Special K protein cereal) (100-120cal) with 1/2 cup of skim milk (45cal).
(145-165cal)

Most days, this brings me up to around 1200 calories by bed time, so I might have double cereal or cereal + chips and salsa or something. Or, if I have to get up really early, I might eat a 140-200cal granola bar and just take the hit.

I never drink alcohol and I have soda less than once a month on average. I drink a whole lotta water, and not much else (occasional cranberry juice or plum juice).

I'm slowly loosing weight, and I'm shocked that 1500 or so calories a day is enough for me. I don't know what i used to eat, but I'm sure it was >2000.

>> No.3860081

>mfw I've never counted calories in my whole life and just eat when I'm hungry and get some regular exercise.

Why must you people over analyze everything?

>> No.3860086

>>3860037
Actually I love food, I was up to 180 lbs (5'10") about 8 or 9 years ago. I fluctuate from 150-165 depending on how much I watch what I eat.

>severely under eating like that is not the proper way to lose weight either
Worked so far, I even exercise with that calorie limit.

>> No.3860228

>>3860037
Counting calories and being responsible about what you eat =/= under eating or completely banning junk/fatty foods from your diet. It's good to be conscious about what you're feeding yourself. Very good. If you never have a "cheat day" or an occasional treat, you probably will break down and binge at some point.
Balance is key.

So you basically skip breakfast entirely. Starvation dieting is fine for women if you ask me, you guys plump up otherwise.

I'm 5'11" and 270lbs. Got a tradmill, though. Gonna start giving myself daily heart attacks on it.. What does /ck/ think about turkey burgers, straight ramen, and steamed veggies in small portions three times a day?

>> No.3860412

>>3860389
I would start out slow as in walking and then moving up to jogging. 3 meals are fine as long as you are in caloric requirement to lose weight.

Early this year I was 274 and now I am down to 240 in ~3 months. Diet is the main key so keep with it and good luck.

>> No.3860420

>>3860232
Starvation is counter productive to losing/maintianing weight and that's not what I'm doing or advocating. I don't get hungry right away in the morning. I usually eat lunch within three hours of getting up. Breakfast is an excellent way to get additional calories and round out your day if you like it.

>>3860350
No problem. Chicken breast is excellent for main-meal main courses. My lunch/dinner centerpiece is usually grilled/baked chicken breast, tuna, or grilled hamburger, with grilled veggies. Tofu is a part of my diet as well. Lowish in calories, high in protein and usually low in fat, depending on your cut of beef.

Do you frequent /fit/?

I started out with intermittent fasting which works very well for me by only eating between the times of 11am and 7 pm. Check out the link up above as well.
