So I really enjoy adding kale to lots of salads I make. Its healthy and I enjoy dark greens.

So now I'm looking for other things I can do with this dark winter green. Anyways to add it to dishes or starters.

THANKS! And what do you think of Kale?

I juice it with other fruits/veggies, make kale chips (of course), and sometimes cook it like rapini:

Parboil it for a few minutes and then drain and pat as dry as you can. Fry some garlic slices and chili peppers in olive oil for a few minutes (don't let the garlic brown) and then add the kale and some thinly sliced scallions if you want.

I then add some chicken broth and cook partially covered for like 10 minutes or so. Serve with some black pepper and Parmesan. Tastes awesome.

Kale chips

I put it in soups. It's delightful in Minestrone if you chop it sufficiently small.

I enjoy eating Kale sauteed like you would spinach. Generally Kale can make a nice substitute for spinach.

Overpriced liberal hipster food. Just eat lettuce if you want to pretend to be a middle aged woman.

Kale is ridiculously cheap where I am, and one of the easiest things to grow in any cold climate.

Not sure what is hipster about an ancient vegetable with a long history...

Kale costs $1 for a huge bunch of it here. It's also wonderful in soup.

In any case, kale is great. Haven't had too much of it myself, but the times I have had it I enjoyed thoroughly.

Nigga, I eat kale raw on my walk to class. Place fist here, bro.

>> No.3840082

I like to steam it in wine with a little garlic and maybe some other veg (if I'm so inclined) and then eat it as a side dish to scrambled eggs. Something about the scrambled eggs, the ketchup I put on the eggs, and the kale goes really well together in the same fork-full.

>> No.3840141

kale is super easy to grow- I love it. I just boil, strain, and add butter, apple cider vinegar and salt. Or put in soup or make delicious colcannon.

Kale chips. Just uses olive oil and a bit of spices. I usually make mine with nutritional yeast, it gives it a cheesy nutty flavor and it has a good amount of protein. Only make an amount you could eat at one time because after a few hours, the kale chips get soggy. I don't know how they keep packaged kale chips fresh and crispy (preservatives?) =/

I first tried it sauteed in a little bit of bacon drippings and it was amazing. Now I like it in soup, salads, steamed, or whatever. It's one of my favorite veggies. Can we get some good kale recipes?
