Since this is the most relevant forum I could find, are any of you fine gentlemen/ladies alcohol/beer drinkers?

If so, post your favourites.

benchmark whiskey. every. fucking. night. i'm too drunk and lazy to find a pic. its nowhere near the best whiskey i've drunk, but is definitely the best for the price. when you drink whiskey like I do you've gotta cut some corners. I can't drink the good shit everyday.

thanks, I will look into it. I haven't seen it before, but the liquor store I shop at is bigger than some grocery stores. so many options that it is easy to overlook something. I shall buy a handle next time or ask if they can get some.

thanks for the suggestion. I love old crow, until recently it was my go-to. very high quality for the price, about as good as Jim IMO. here recently I've switched to Benchmark, not saying it is any better. I just like a bit of variety and Benchmark is good.

I have bough old crow reserve before and I did not like it. it tasted different and was a bit overwhelming. I may try it again randomly but I was unimpressed.

Ill have to give Benchmark a try if its anything like Old Crow, value wise.
I just looked up the wiki on old crow, surprising amount of history!
>Besides Blackburn, many American politicians have declared their love for Old Crow.[citation needed] It has been said that it was the drink of choice for American general and later 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant.[citation needed] An apocryphal story about Grant's drinking has the general's critics going to President Abraham Lincoln, charging the military man with being a drunk. Lincoln is supposed to have replied, "By the way, gentlemen, can either of you tell me where General Grant procures his whiskey ? Because, if I can find out, I will send every general in the field a barrel of it!"[3]
>Reportedly the archetypically American writers Mark Twain and Hunter S. Thompson loved this bourbon. Twain reportedly visited the distillery in the 1880s, and Old Crow advertised this heavily;[5] John C. Gerber sees in this commercial exploitation a sign of Twain's continuing popularity.[6] As for Thompson, the frequent occurrences of the drink in his writing, semi-autobiographical[7] as well as fictional[8][9][10] have led to similar associations.

old crow is indeed a timeless, historical, and classic bourbon. correct me if I am wrong though, but I feel that the quality is lower than it once was. (i've only been drinking it for 3 years now, so I don't know this for sure.). it is still a great drink for the price, among the best in that range. but to me it feels like somewhere along the lines it was decided that old crow would be marketed as a budget bourbon, and methinks that in our age they are cutting some corners so that they can sell an inexpensive bourbon under the same label as the American classic.

of course I have no proof, this is just my logic and pondering. that being said I love old crow and it is easily in the upper echelons of my affordable whiskey list. I just feel like they don't make it like they used to.
