Marketing to children is a crime?

Most fast food places have cut trans fat levels and sugar levels to below home-cooked meal levels.

Home-cooked meals have far less portion control than fast food meals.

>>Marketing to children is a crime?
Agreed, that's a silly argument.

>>Most fast food places have cut trans fat levels and sugar levels to below home-cooked meal levels.
Meaningless statement. When you cook at home you can choose how much sugar, salt, etc. you use. When you eat fast food you have no choice in how much salt is in your burger patty. I don't know about you but I don't add salt or sugar to my hamburger patties.

>>Home-cooked meals have far less portion control than fast food meals.
They're identical. In all cases you choose how much you want to eat before you stop eating. How much you cook or how large the fast food meal is doesn't matter. You can always order additional fast food. you can always choose not to finish your meal. It's ALWAYS your choice.

>>Home cooked meals have no sanitation control that I'm aware of, nor are their nutritional values known to the people who prepare and eat them.
This is all about choice. If you want to look up your nutritional information it's easily done online or with a book. Likewise if you want to wash your hands you're welcome to do that too. When you prep food yourself you can choose to be a slob or an OCD nutjob about cleanliness. A restaurant follows the law, which is only sometimes based in science and often makes no sense at all. Modernist Cuisine has a whole chapter about the inconsistencies and outright mistakes in US food safety laws. I would not rely on the law as my only "safety net" for food sanitation.

You cannot imagine how much I fucking HATE subway. It is taking everything in me right now to not go full-blown autistic and start point out everything that is wrong with the franchise and how I cannot imagine how they can turn a profit, who they hell keeps buying this shit?

First of all, Subway is NOT cheap. The only thing halfway reasonable is the $5 footlong, and even that is a ripoff. You are limited to only 1-2 sandwiches for $5 and just because it is a footlong doesn't mean that you are getting more food. I can get a sandwich half that size from Potbelly that uses just as much meat, cheese, and bread as the Subway shit. The quality is much better and it costs $4.60 and I don't have to have my sandwich made by a fucking stoned dipshit. That Subway bread is made of sugar, air, and death, it's like baked cotton candy and it smells like a sweaty foot. They never use enough meat and cheese, they use WAY too much goddamn mayonnaise, and they are stingy as hell with every veggie exept that fucking shit shredded lettuce.

But by all means, keep eating at Subway. Enjoy paying $5+ dollars on a cheap ass loaf of cloud bread, a few slimy slices of meat, and a fistfull of shitty lettuce. I swear if I ever win the lottery I will burn down every Subway in town and bail myself out with my winnings.

I don't eat there for the same reason I don't eat at any fast food restaurants. The people working don't care enough to make sure the food is safe. I'm the only one that ever, EVER fucking temps the food and fixes any that are too hot/cold. I've been working at Subway less than three months, and I put more effort to ensure I sell quality products in one shift than these assholes have since they started.

Fast food sucks, the employees don't get paid enough to care, and the managers only care about the store's bottom line. I'm assuming this is true of other fast food restaurants as well, but this is the first one I've worked at.

veggie sandwich on whole wheat

>> No.3810604

I get roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, black olives, oil/vinegar and little mayo on toasted Italian bread.

I usually get foot long, so I can save the other half for dinner or next day's lunch.

>> No.3810610

All the sandwiches at Subway taste the same, doesn't matter what you get, all that matters is which sauce you get.

And since I make sandwiches at home all the time, the only one I like at Subway is the meatball sub because I don't often eat that at home. I get it with a lot of tomatoes and olives and with southewest sauce. Nothing else

she was only doing what she was told. We are told to put 3 olives for a 6 inch, if you wanted more just ask. We have to give as many as you want until your satisfied.

I stopped going to subway altogether but that was in new orleans near the delgado campus at 514 City Park Ave. It was only when the owner was there. It pissed me off. It was more than three, but not much more.

Can't beat the classic. Had one today and it was glorious. I have the best Subway on the planet outside the base I'm at (Fort Polk).

>> No.3811012

A pizza sub on Italian herbs and cheese with provolone, a generous amount of marinara sauce, green peppers, onions, then toasted and finally some spinach, the shakes, and a little bit of ranch dressing and chipotle sauce.

>>3807518

My second favorite mix, but with everything but olives, pickles, and yellow peppers.

>> No.3811034

Tuna sub on nine-grain wheat with spinach, black olive, green pepper, cucumber, pepper, and a side of some salad dressing to be put on later.

Usually a creamy Italian, spicy Italian, Chipotle, or maybe a blue cheese sauce goes well with it

American cheese and untoasted as well

>> No.3811045

Subway has drones in the back slicing and weighing meat portions and putting them on paper to be used later.

Anyone heard of "oxidation"?

Go to a real sandwich shop and get meat sliced right before it goes on.

>> No.3811117

Toasted meatball marinara, with provolone, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, pickles, olives, mayo, and honey mustard.
