I never said preferred it, but it's a fact, that rice provides food to far more people than potatos or even wheat.

Do you consider yams part of the potato family? If so, a lot less Africans would be alive also.
It would probably be a crappy world without potatoes, corn chips with every sandwich, burger, and deep fried meat item.
