Also, Julia Child. Very influential, and her French cookbook is still great until today.

I watched Pepin do scrambled, it's almost the same way as Gordon just no butter, but he still does it on high heat and vigorously whisks them ("smallest possible curd") and adds cream to stop the cooking. I've tried cooking scramble Gordon's and Pepin's way and there is almost no difference, you don't really need salt with Gordon's because of the butter. I've done Pepin's "Classic French" omelette and it's gorgeous. I haven't tried his international style and I've never seen Gordon do an omelette.
