What did you eat today /ck/?
Share your meal pics, please.

This thread is to post food from around the world to build a mutual understanding of each others culture.

Do not talk about racial discrimination.
Don't slander a poster.
In deference to a rule of 4chan, let's make a pleasant thread.

I made shredded pork. Followed America's Test Kitchen Oven BBQ pork recipe. I also made whole wheat hamburger buns to put it in. The buns were perfect. The pork was good, maybe a bit over cooked. I found the sauce really too sweet, but my wife loved it.

Americans, why is all you food sweet?

I had beef sausages with steamed broccoli, carrot, savoy cabbage, and garlic mash. My girlfriend had crumbed turkey breast instead of sausages, because she doesn't eat red meat.

It was pretty decent. Garlic mash was creamy and the right amount of acrid, and the cabbage was sweet and crisp. Pretty good for a slap together meal.

The 2 rump steaks I cooked before. Only had mushrooms with them because I was too tired to make mashed potato/steamed veggies. The steak itself has a light pepper/paprika/herb crust and was pan fried in garlic butter (might sound weird but I find it better than adding garlic butter to them after) and a little soy sauce. Mushrooms fried alongside them.

OH, the Pepsi throwback. I thought you were talking about my sandwich. I was very confused. I guess it is a selling point. Sugar instead of HFcS. I just thought the can was cool and retro looking for the picture. I don't drink a whole lot of soda,I stick to tea or water mostly. The pepsi wasn't mine, someone left it at my house. I drank it out of curiosity. It was pretty good. Not something I could have everyday though.

It's the only clams I can get that aren't frozen, overpriced and disgusting. The noodles are from a store-brand spaghetti, cooked the pasta around 10 minutes before I took the pic because I stepped on some broken glass (roommate was drunk again and broke something last night/this morning) and I had to take it out, clean the wound and slap a bandage on it

I made gnocchi soup, after a copycat recipe of Olive Garden's stuff. Gnocchi, chicken, celery, carrots, spinach, onions, garlic, spinach, a shitload of half and half, etc.

Amazingly, it turned out pretty similar! Didn't get it quite as thick as it was at the restaurant though. I also got a loaf of French bread too, which when you dip in the soup is godly.

But I'm no Italian. I'm just a Texan. Here's a bad picture of it.

You could do a peanut chili noodle dish, but I'm not sure how to incorporate the pork. Chicken or tofu would probably be best.

My best friend/old roomate always had white rice in the cooker, and I still cheat with it sometimes, but I try to stick to brown.

I'm going to try that apple salad. What do you dress it with? Was thinking a lime vinaigrette.

the dressing is really easy - its stones green ginger wine simmered till its reduced to the constancy of hot honey. its really gingery and sweet so you only need a little bit to dress.

these are the ingredients for the salad, use what you can get your hands on.
julienne of apple
sliced spring or red onion
sprigs of coriander/cilantro
sliced chilli
coconut shavings
chiffonade kaffir lime leaf
green ginger wine dressing (add ginger to the salad if you use a different dressing)

thanks for the idea, i think i'll do a chili noodle dish with the pork, should be good
