Finaly, After MANY years of cooking for work, getting minimum wage for working my ass off, sweating like a dirty monkey, getting cuts, burns and other work related shit, i have left cooking as work and went for HelpDesk desk, no regrets.

Anyone els working as a chef and thinking of quiting that shit?

If after the first year you are still making minimum wage, you're doing it wrong.

i still think chefs are highly undervalued and our pay is pritty shitty, compare to the work we have to do daily.

I so long for the day I can get off the helpdesk and back into the kitchen.

There is something I find uniquely satisfying about working my ass off, sweating like a dirty monkey, and getting cut, burned, and whatnot.

Hell, maybe I could get a night job as a busser, just to feel alive again.

>> No.3726683

I went the opposite direction, OP. I couldn't stand sitting behind a desk, so I quit and started working in kitchens.

I love being the first one there every day. Plug in my phone, login to Rhapsody, get started on prep...

Do that for about three hours, and then service starts showing up. Questions are being asked, an order for staff might come back, maybe have family meal, etc. Then in another hour things get busy, off and on. Then out of nowhere the rush starts. Non-stop butt fucking and panic.

Then out of nowhere, the tickets are gone, the dishes are piled up, and you go out back to smoke a joint and let out the steam.

If it's your night, then you go back in, tie-up loose ends, and go home. If it's not your night, you stay the next 4-6 hours closing the kitchen down and deep cleaning.

I love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'd probably do vodka/oj and vodka/lime/blue curacao for the Portal shots. Also, caramel, peach and curacao in that Mudkip doesn't sound too good.

>lots of terms nobody would know unless they were heavily into homebrewing
>no explanation of what certain things are or their purpose
>the only people who would have access to such equippment required would already know how to do this thus making the picture useless

why was this made and who thought it was a good idea?

There's countless of different types of beer, with tons of varieties within types. If you have equipment and homebrew, it doesn't mean you automatically know all recipes that exist.
Idiot.

Yes it does. I'm a homebrewer, and following that picture I could make the Vanilla porter. And I'm pretty sure that picture is aimed at homebrewers, and not at total beginners that haven't brewed.
