I grew up in a city with a ton Haitian immigrants and I never heard or saw anyone be as racist towards them as regular old African-Americans. They had serious and often violent disputes. The animosity came from Haitians taking up all the government resources that were previously given to A-As and the Haitians being so poorly able to assimilate into the community that it made all black people look bad. I learned what a “Haitian shower” is from my black friends dad when I was 8 or 9. It’s putting on a different shirt and dousing yourself in cheap gas station knock off black people cologne.

You basically fillet the breasts out, cut off the thighs like normal chicken thighs if you want them. Personally I'd stick with just the breasts. As for what to do with them? I'd probably turn them into pastrami.

That appears to be a Canada Goose, which are not the best birds for roasting whole. The breast meat is the most useful cut. I would probably dice the goose breast and lightly fry the cubes in butter, garlic and Cajun seasoning, aiming for a medium doneness, maybe even medium-rare. Served with mash or polenta.

>In America, aren't ducks at the park covered by the migratory birds act ie it's illegal to take them home?
Most ducks and geese are protected from uncontrolled hunting by the migratory birds act. However, all you need to do is pay for a cheap migratory bird stamp and abide by your states relevant hunting laws to legally hunt them. For my state, Canadian geese season ranges from the start of September through the end of February depending on the region, and the amount you can hunt has a daily limit between 8 and 15 during the earlier season and between 2 and 8 during the latter hunting seasons, depending on the region. There's also a possession limit (total in field, at home, in transit, or in storage), which is 3x the daily limit.

Wild Canadian geese are fine. Maybe a little gamy, such that you wouldn't want to make burgers from their breasts without cutting in another meat. But they're fine with most other preparations.
It's the wild but not migratory Canadian geese that are somewhat ironically worse tasting. These resident Canadian geese that have decided they found prime real estate and don't need to actually migrate anymore. Their meat is still edible, but I'd recommend a less fresh preparation for their breasts, like jerky or pastrami.

That's exactly what I meant. Those fuckers don't migrate now. They just hunker down and wait. IU would not want to eat such a parasitic creature. I'd sooner eat a crow.

She let us pet her once or twice, too. Still won't let us pick her up but she's very comfortable with us but not others. Because she's a crow and all crows look alike (das raysiss!) we can only tell her apart by her behaviour. If she doesn't fly away when one of us approaches her, it's our crow friend. If she approaches us, it's our crow friend. She's nice. We feed her unsalted peanuts and small bits of raw ground beef.

>>20824712
Just offer them unsalted peanuts or other food when you see them. Don't leave the food out cuz then they won't associate it with you. After some time, they'll know you're friendly and will start to let you be close or even touch them. We got the idea after this Swiss guy on /an/ took in a crow who wakes him up in the morning by hopping up and down on his chest and he feeds it and it lets him pet and hold it.
It's pretty awesome. He buys pinky mice for it and bakes for it (pinky mouse frittatas). He even have it a steak once
