Is every cook an unreliable drug addict piece of shit? Ive spent a year cooking and now im considering finding a different career path. Im 24 and have been taking college slowly and wonder if its too late or if i can still get out of here. Im just tired of it

taking benadryl recreationally

Literally every cook is a cokehead or a mexican (also a cokehead). It really is funny how sanitized cooking shows are compared to the reality for most kitchens.

Most
10% of the are good, decent, hardworking people, those will be the ones that keep you in this industry if you aren't careful. I wouldn't make this a lifelong goal unless you plan on owning and operating a business or being a personal chef. I'm about to be 30, started when I was 18, it's not worth it. It'll keep you poor and miserable

Get out now before you can't. There's people who are 34, hell even 44 in your position.

I don't understand why the culinary industry attracts druggies and wastoids. Anyone got insight?

It's looked down upon. Low pay, no benefits, long hours. Most restaurants are just bars that serve fried food from a bag. Fine dining places are more prestigious and have a better staff.

You may as well be asking why breathable air attracts the same types. It's food, breh. Who on earth doesn't eat?

It's the go to job for parole officers. Oh your a dumb nigger with no skills? Well you still better be employed by next week. Here's some restaurants that are hiring. Also it's a job that doesn't drug test. Not many entry level hire you off the street jobs don't drug test.

get a job in an upscale restaurant if you want to be around not drug addicts. if youre eating at a casual eatery, late night hot spot, date restaurant etc is all bottom barrels. if you wanna actually cook as a Profesional you need to get a job at a michelin rated/recommended restaurant or a fancy hotel. there is no in between

Yes, for the most part. It's actually the lowest of the low job and the employees are literal carnies. I've decided to go to college in the fall because i cant do this shit. I'm better than that, like damn. Everyone is a zero skill, been-to-jail, has 5 kids, genuine retard.
