My birthday is coming up soon, and for a "cake", I've been craving 3 options: key lime pie, banana pudding, or bread budding. I love banana pudding, but I also love key lime pie. I haven't had bread pudding in a very long time. I might not like it, but it's new and a southern staple. What do you guys think?

It's your birthday OP so no reason it has to be either/or situation. Have as many or all of them as you like.

Do you like a baked or no-bake banana pudding?

Probably baked banana bread. I'm a fat fuck who doesn't deserve anything but I really want one of those three items and I'll use my birthday as an excuse

Personally I think a bread pudding that is traditionally served hot is too unseasonal for scorching June. Since you prefer a baked banana pudding and the key lime filling of a pie is also baked with both traditionally topped with fresh whipped cream:
Why not combine them? Cook them both on the stove and chill'em then layer them in a trifle dish with the key lime custard layer, crushed graham crackers layer, banana pudding layer, sliced bananas layer, 'Nilla wafers layer, back to the key lime custard layer and so on then topping everything with the sweetened cream.

Alternatively I'd go with a key lime pie using Chef JP's recipe with toasted assorted nuts in the crust (and sweetened coconut flakes but you can skip those):

I was just going to buy a store version. I don't actually know how to cook

Also, what I love about key lime pie cannot be meld together with bread pudding. The sour filling, and sweet whipped cream, then the salty crust just creates an amazing experience. It's 3 simple ingredients that trumps any other pie in the world. So simple, so great

>Obligatory it's cheaper and tastes better to make it yourself statement and easy with YT step-by-step instructions
Okay, I don't think a store bread pudding is gonna be great, but banana pudding and pies tend to good store-bought. Maybe check your sale papers to see what's gonna be on sale (sometimes they have frozen pies half off or BOGO).

Key lime pie is pretty easy if you want to try cooking something, just buy a premade graham cracker crust and whipped cream (or cool whip).

For me I’d probably go key lime, it’s the less common flavor and if you plan on eating it over several days may stay fresher longer than banana pudding (also Happy Birthday!)

Id choose pie for the actual day, but get all of them to celebrate leading up to it
