I will not show you my fridge because I hate it. I bought it when I first moved into this apartment ten years ago when I was very poor, so I got the cheapest one I could afford, and now I (as mentioned) hate it. It's too cramped, the light flickers, the freezer has condensation inside it, it's just depressing. I want a new, better one so bad but I haven't found the right time to invest.

If you've cleaned and disinfected all visible surfaces, there's a vent and air box where the cold air is blown in. Rotting goo could have gotten inside. You should be able to find screws to open the cover and clean it out.

In the meantime, they are touching every possible surface with their sticky hands. So I freeze anything that has food waste on it as to not attract insects and vermin.If you leave food in the trash, you're just asking for the bugs to come inside.

My dad taught this method to me about 40 years ago. I used to run an air b & b a while ago and I would always tell my renters to freeze their trash and a few of them looked at me like I was an alien from another planet. I did meet another anon here that does this though. It was a few years ago in another fridge rate thread. Sometimes in life you just gotta not care what others think about you, but that's easier said than done.

Most people don't do it and don't get bugs. I understand theoretically bugs would be less attracted or unable to eat and lay eggs un food thats frozen, but i think you're solving a problem that doesn't exist.
I used to do this when I had a cheap shitty apartment that didnt have a trash can outside, so the trash all just kind of piled up till I left the bags on the curb. But that was for the smell.
