How bad for you are these really? I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, but man these things are my vice. I fucking love em first thing in the morning.

It's just a cup of coffee's worth of caffeine there's nothing else explicitly "unhealthy" in monsters especially sugarless one

You shouldn't have caffeine first thing in the morning, or you get a massive energy dump.

The reason you're tired is you have leftover adenosine in your body, and the caffeine stops it from bonding with your blood and getting removed. So all you're doing is delaying that, and getting even more when the caffeine expires.

Wait 90-120 minutes after waking up to have it, and then all your adenosine is out of your body, so you'll get more of an effect.

They're bad because they're a giant waste of money. You're better off just finding some caffeine pills, making cold brew, or sweets with caffeine in them and drinking water.
Health wise? There's zero evidence they do anything harmful or positive, it's just a shit load of water mixed in with some non-harmful artificial sweeteners and vitamins you'll piss out in a few hours that do nothing for you, and about a cup of coffee worth of caffeine.
You'd maybe run into trouble if you have heart issues or sensitivity to caffeine, but even that would likely only happen if you drank 6+ of them in a day.

Artificial sweeteners are bad for your gut flora. Especially sucralose which comes with diarrhea warnings sometimes. Obviously tons of real sugar isn't good either but it's not completely harmless just because it's zero calories.

Same. I barely drink (maybe a six pack once a quarter), don't smoke, no drugs, can lift 1/2/3/4 and do a lot of hiking.
A monster or mother in the afternoon really helps me get through the work day. Not because of lack of energy or anything, but because I like the taste and it staves off the boredom.
I don't feel burnt out or tired on the days I
don't have them, and I'm always drinking water even while I'm sipping. In my case, I definitely think I'm better off not drinking them but I think the health impact is minor at most.

Drink coffee or a different brand of energy drinks without sucralose if you must.

The rear of my lower incisors will gradually get tartar build-up, and I'm not sure how common that is or if it's just my teeth, but the dentist usually scrapes off some every visit. However, if I have one Monster Zero Ultra per day for a week (doesn't happen with other flavors or types of sweeteners), those teeth will always have a massive tartar build-up by the end of the week. Does that happen to anyone else?

Not my teeth, but it's kind of like this (just not that severe because I have a metal pick that I use to scrape it off when it starts to accumulate).

>> No.20413651

Do you brush your teeth after drinking it? It might be sugar free but bacteria can still feed on it so you should treat it like something sugary and brush after.

Hmm. I compared the ingredient list of it and a few other sugar free sodas. Monster has a lot of citric acid along with a few other kinds of acid in the ingredient list. Maybe it's weakening your teeth more than other soft drinks and letting tartar build up faster.

Tartar is plaque that hasn't been removed. I gave you an explanation as to why it could be happening and you just say no. I told you how to possibly prevent it from happening and you say no. Maybe you have tartar on your brain.

not that guy, but you come off as a condescending schizoid when you argue like this

also, I'm far more inclined to say you are experiencing some form of confirmation bias
drinking whatever monster may have nothing to do with tartar buildup but you've decided it does without controlling anything else
additionally, you apparently visit a dentist with some frequency
why not ask them? surely they would have a far more informed opinion on the relation of tartar with drinking highly acidic energy drinks
maybe go search through some medical publications on the relationship of acidic diets with dental hygiene

additionally, simply reading through the wikipedia page for plaque may give you some hints like this excerpt
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dental_plaque
>Oral hygiene is important as dental biofilms may become acidic causing demineralization of the teeth (also known as dental caries) or harden into dental calculus (also known as tartar).
suggesting that bacteria that lead to tartar buildup thrive in acidic environments which you would be massively influencing by sipping on a delicious energy drink

>additionally, simply reading through the wikipedia page for plaque may give you some hints like this excerpt
Yeah, *I* don't need "hints." The person I'm "talking with" is the one who needs to educate himself.

>suggesting that bacteria that lead to tartar buildup thrive in acidic environments
This is why Wikipedia is not educational. Bacteria don't "thrive in" acidic environments. Bacteria in your mouth create acids, which is what decays your teeth. Tartar, likewise, is a byproduct of bacterial metabolism inside your mouth. It doesn't come from acids. It comes from organisms. Organisms, likewise, do not consume acids. They don't "thrive in" acids. What they thrive in is sugary, nutrient-rich environments, which is why sugar lead to tooth decay, but doesn't cause it directly. Get it yet?

Monster Ultra contains "zero sugar," so how does it stimulate massive tartar formation? Because those artificial sweeteners are literally just sugar by another name, and apparently in a form that oral bacteria can metabolize pretty much immediately. Again, acidity is completely irrelevant. Green Monster is just as, if not more, acidic than white Monster. Sugar content, and apparently type, is what causes this.

I was just asking if it happens to anyone else or not. I was not asking because I didn't understand how it happens. Narcissistic Faggot Child entered the thread >>20413669, and just assumed that anyone was confused about what was happening, and we all were just waiting for his sage guidance.

Maybe I wanted to know why it was happening and I was trying to figure it out for that reason too. I have issues with sucralose, although they're more digestive. And I like to understand why these processed things can cause so many issues, which ends up helping me understand more why natural things can be better for us.

I don't really know if you have an issue with all the Monster drinks that contain sucralose, or just the white one specifically because that's the one you used in an example and you said it doesn't happen with other flavors.

I thought we could just talk and share information and come up with ideas to figure it out. But you became pretty unpleasant to talk to really quickly and just quickly got more and more unpleasant.
