As somebody who managed like 250 employees with an utterly useless union, I don't get the love. I started in the union then moved up. They took a chunk out of my check, a big one, and did more harm than good. They only thing they ever did was go flop in front of the US company HQ in Seattle on a busy street with 50 union reps. They paid for first class tickets, from all 50 states, for their union reps to do so, and their bail/ticket for public nuisances or w.e. Some journalist or whistle blower within the union said they paid like 750k for the stunt that did nothing more than give them some photos of police dragging them off, that they put up in the break room to show how hard they were fighting.

When I got to management it was also mind boggling and eye opening how they sat with management, monthly, and discussed nothing more than how many buttons they were allowed to wear in protest while on the job. Not wage increases. Not maternity leave. Not anything of worth. 6 years of that.

Are all modern unions as dog shit? My company operated in like 48 US states and 140 countries world wide.

I personally, had to get incredibly creative with increased pay for people in important positions, leave, all sorts of quality of life shit. I get that it could have been abused, preferential treatment, etc, but anything I ever worked for like 50 out of my 250 (single department out of 6 or 7) was of ZERO interest to the union as they outright approved it at the drop of a hat. Whats the point? Shouldn't they have investigated or thought to look and see i wasn't doing these things for personal gain or promotions of super qt 19 year olds? If I wanted to increase wages for 220 of my full time employees.. id be shot down because the 30 part time jannies didn't get the raise.

Yeah, I worked with a ton of Somalis, Liberian, Ethiopians, etc. They all seemed to be on the transportation side and all claimed muslim.. yet got fucked up on and stole a lot of booze, lol. As management we knew what would be missed and what could be overlooked. I shared almost everything, but watches, perfume, and sealed liquor. The fancy celeb charter flights were fun. We did the rolling stones once and they ate the most basic childhood comfort food. They were nice enough to sign every bottle on their flight, knowing catering would take and replace em. I'm not a fan, so I didn't take any, but a ton of the employees were super duper happy to have a half drunk Keith Richards signed bottle of rum or w.e. I don't know that they even drank them, as they'd fly with huge entoruages of family n frens.

Trader Joe’s was a godsend when I was a single working professional living in an urban area. If I forgot lunch I could walk over and get a $5 wrap instead of a $15 sandwich from a city shop. Every Sunday I’d get meat and produce delivered from amazon/whole foods then go to TJ’s for supplements like bread, cheese, seasonings, cooking oil, frozen dinners etc. Worked out to be surprisingly economical because you can shop amazon sales online and TJ’s pricing is pretty good. I now live far from a TJ’s or grocery delivery, with multiple people to feed but that was a very convenient setup. Wouldn’t go back though.

They have a lot of semi processed foods that are convenient for salads like pre shredded carrots and brussels, steamed lentils, cut and peeled beets, that kind of thing. And they also have a lot of what you’re describing like pre marinated meats, tendies, noodle bowls, frozen pizza etc. Point is not everyone who shops at Trader Joe’s doesn’t know how to cook, but if you don’t know how to cook it might be the best store for you.

Amazon owns Whole Foods, if you order groceries online from Amazon it either comes from a WF store or an Amazon grocery warehouse, I assume those only exist in dense urban techie dystopian hellholes. It is shitty to give your money to such a company but unironically I saved a lot of money when I started doing this (can check sales and meal prep recipes for the week before getting to the store). Of course you can get your gay free range sprouted gluten free muffins or whatever but they do have normal food too.

I was on a cable car in SF once many many years ago and this guy insisted on trying to talk to me. I know Italian Sign Language and pretended to be deaf and foreign (one of those two is true) and somehow, this homeless Black American hobo in California knew enough Italian Sign Language to still carry on a conversation. He just tried to make small talk, obviously lonely (and shocked he would get to use Italian sign language).
They surprise the fuck out of you sometimes.
During that same visit, another homeless negro tried to talk to me so I used my sign language skills again but they were effective that time. Until he took out a fucking pen and notebook. Dude was completely nuts, writing some shit about music is everywhere and the beat of the drum is life as he mimed drumming. There was another bit about trees being angry.
That same trip, I was in LA and some hobo jumped out from some bushes, rapping, telling jokes and doing backflips. His final joke was "what's the best nation? DOUGH-nation!" told as he put out his hand for payment.
My worst experience with American homeless also happened in LA. I speak Spanish. European Spanish, anyway. And some tiny brown guy overheard me speaking to someone and he tried to talk to me. However, with his disgusting brown accent, I couldn't understand wtf he was saying. Something about Eskimos? So I told him in clear proper Spanish that I didn't understand a word he's saying. He responds in English with just as confounding an accent, "oh, you don' undastan muddafukka? You wan get stab?" as he pulled out a pocket knife. He didn't actually do anything from that point just kind of walked away, knife in hand, but it was just a rather bizarre escalation. I would have almost preferred if he'd tried to stab me or something rather than just walk away dejectedly. Almost.
Would have been far less confusing.

I gave the flipping groid money! And yeah, sign languages vary place to place and just as spoken languages, have language families. American sign language and Italian are part of the same family (asking with French sign). Weirdly, must of Canada uses American sign except Quebec which has its own sign language which is pretty of the British family of sign languages.
And no, Italian sign language is not "EXTRA." It's barely any different from American sign language. There are some accent and vocabulary differences. American sign language for "gate" is Italian sign language for "door," for example. Knowing one sign language can help you understand a little of the others but they're not completely mutually intelligible and people from communities speaking different sign languages tend to resort to what is called "Gesturo" which is quite extra. It's basically miming but makes use of a lot of universal it near universal signs and gestures to be able to have full-on conversations. I had a Gesturo conversation with a deaf woman in Cambodia about bicycles. I'm not even sure she knows an actual sign language, just "home sign" (sign languages that develop at home with absence of exposure to a linguistic community, proving Chomsky's theory that language is innate in humanity and is as instinctual to people as building a web is to spiders).
If you couldn't guess, I'm a linguist. Wrote my thesis on sign languages.

She was telling me about how her deafness creates some challenges and most of those challenges centered around avoiding fast-moving bicycles. Her village doesn't have many cars and all the drivers there know she's deaf and to flash their lights to get her attention so she can move the fuck out the way but bike riders were too numerous.

Their sushi always had weird long grain dry rice. My local Kroger always has snow fox bs. They slather too many mayo sauces and fried onions on shit, but it is far better and usually around $6 to $12.

How is this stupid thread still alive?

Hashbrowns if you're lucky enough to find them, and honey pearl grapes if they're still in season. Steak & stout pies. And their birria is also pretty solid.

Yeah you're definitely proving my point with that post, good job
The "libertarians" came up with the plan because they hated EU regulation, but knew no one really cares about that, so they framed it as an immigration issue to appeal to the right. The government also liked the plan because they wanted to pass laws the EU wouldn't approve of, but since they know the right hates them they had to pretend to oppose it and frame said opposition in leftist terms to attract useful idiots like you to the anti side. As for dismantling or leaving the Commonwealth, the UK government would never let that happen, like I said in a previous post we'd need a straight up WN revolution for that to even be voted on, let alone passed into law.

Why is the trader joes thread the one that attracts the schitzos? I just want to hear about cheese and frozen dinners, damn

The original statement was a simple explanation of ROA and Brexit. The first reply to it was "the government was dishonest about what would happen!"
Now either I'm a political genius for seeing immediately that leaving the union would not affect immigration at all since the vast majority of immigrants have done so by ROA or the electorate is just as uneducated as I said. Considering I have practically no interest in politics, the latter is far more likely.
And if you wanna talk about proving points, the fact that you can't even remain on that original point and instead need to go onto diatribes about unrelated issues certainly proves mine: the electorate are dumb. You, however, have proved less than nothing since all you've done is make more and more claims while ignoring the original point wholesale. Good job being a good "useful idiot," Schlitzie.
Talking of which, how useful could I have been if you assume I voted remain and the UK left? Doesn't sound particularly useful. And it's more idiotic to presume on how I voted when I gave no indication one way nor the other.
In closing, you are not very smart.
