How do you arrange/schedule your weekly meals?

I'm a young single male. I eat when I want. The only planning I do is removing items from the chest freezer.

My mother cooks me breakfast a little after 8am every day. It is usually eggs and sausage or bacon and a couple mini pancakes or a pan of home fries.

I menu plan about a week, or a little more, in advance. Mainly just dinner entrees. I like cooking, but loathe grocery shopping, so it helps that I know what I need and can place a grocery order, and just pick it up on schedule. It also helps to plan for defrosting meats/fish or sauce bases and seasoning the cuts, or if I need to cook long times (roasting or smoking a cut). I work M-F and cook bigger and more elaborate meals on the weekends. The family likes to know what dinner will be in advance, and I'm not picky if I need to switch dinners around at the last minute. I run a tight ship but am flexible. It is really good to lead and provide structure and consistency to my household; women and children need that.

this is more or less exactly what I do, and what my parents did and still do - and really all for the same reasons you do. based scheduler
