In 1858, the penny became the smallest US coin, as the half cent had been minted for the last time the year before. In 2024 money, that penny is equal to $0.35. The quarter should be the smallest unit of currency in use. People hate pockets full of coins because they have so little value and they only want to keep up with three or four types of coins, which is why the dollar coin keeps failing. Discontinue not just the penny, but also the nickle and the dime. Then add $1 and $5 coins (none of that gay Canadian Toonie $2 shit). Now you only have three types of coins to bother with.
>But rounding. But sales tax.
Product sizes can be adjusted to match up with $0.25 increments. Sales tax is fucking annoying for everyone. Replace it with a tax on gross sales. It's effectively the same thing in revenue for the government but rounding becomes a non-issue since it is on the business's gross sales instead of each customer's individual sale.

Taco Bells sucks. Their app didn't even work today.

Also, Long John Silver had a wrap that was a million times better than any Taco Bell burrito. It was chicken, shrimp, or fish and had rice and that cruncher batter gravel that they use. It was also the size of your arm. Shit was massive. Hands down the best fast food burrito I've ever eaten.

*also, "pinwheel wraps" were a huge food meme in the late 90's and this thing was somewhat inspired by those (Bajoran "hasperat" from Star Trek was a pinwheel wrap lol). So this thing is a partial pinwheels wrap where the rice and gravel and maybe the sauce was contained in the outer part of the wrap. I'm not sure. I can't find torts that size either anymore. All the huge "wrap" style torts are flavored like spinach and tomato.

Funny that you should ask that in a thread about taco bell raising prices and cheaping out on products.

The bellburger was the original; it had meat, cheese, mild sauce, lettuce, with optional tomato. It was there from the opening of the restaurant in the 60s to the 70s.

The bell beefer was the replacement they introduced in the 70s, which was one of the first times taco bell decided to screw the customer. It had meat, mild sauce, lettuce, and onion. The cheese and optional tomato were only available on the bell beefer deluxe for an additional charge.

They've been doing this shit since the beginning

Reminder that as inflation decreases, then the prices should natually lower. What fast food is counting on right now is the idea of, "they'll pay for it anyway". You have no idea what's really behind this, do you? You think rational people with good intentions are running things? Protip: they want you to be miserable because anger is far easier to direct and so they're using a "vice" that they already had it out for.

You want to know where we're headed with fast food, "junk food", and basically anything that is cheap that tastes good? Look at how big tobacco went. That's where we're headed. We let them raise prices and destroy the cigarette industry because they couldn't rationally convince retarded people (including minorities) that smoking was bad for them, so they just strangled the entire industry. They're going to do that to junk food because, mostly because black people lack self-control and stroke-out before 50 in hugely disproportionate numbers.

When the rest of your post shows they are literally doing that if people are so brainwashed by marketing that they can't stop themselves from destroying their own bodies. We in America (the only country that matters) are paying these ridiculous prices largely because we started trusting "experts" the way you feckless retard peasants do. Well first off, things here usually have less sugar to begin with but you completely missed the point being made. Yes, children like sweet things, but the thing that gets children to want their parents to buy something is by and large marketing.
>It's literally a ploy to allow ONE box of puffed sugar to better compete with another box of puffed sugar but has fuck all to do with why people like things that taste good.
You understand this, but don't seem to understand at all how marketing is manipulative to people. For how much people here talk about propaganda, Amerifats never seem to consider the propaganda involved in telling you to be unhealthy and when you point it out to them, they insist that it's their FREEDOM telling them to be fat fucks and nothing else, as if fast food and sugary sweets don't exist elsewhere.

No, it isn't, dumb fuck. I know you're a leftist commie Euro-pleb who hates freedom, but people just like things that taste good. It's not complicated. The cartoons and colorful boxes and all that dumb shit is just fine-tuning so one box of Good Tasting Stuff appeals more over another box of Good Tasting Stuff.

All marketing ever did was liberate people to do WHAT THEY ALREADY WANTED TO DO. Maybe you won't trust this "Amerifat" but you might trust the BBC, watch Adam Curtis' "Century of Self" documentary. You'll learn that they had to actually add a real egg back to cake mixes for precisely the reason that WHAT PEOPLE WANT on a biological and emotional level trumps all else. You can't get around that. It's why none of this propaganda ever works once you get past liberating people. You can't actually convince people to go against their base desires very well. This is what you dumb fuck annoying statist Euro-scum infesting this site can't grasp. Love liberty, faggot.

You're missing a "$4" in front of that 89c. I had a BOGO coupon for that in the app and it's still a massive ripoff. It's normally $4.89 and is about 3/4 the size of a burrito supreme. It's effectively what the $1.49 cheesy double beef burrito used to be. Now it's probably the worst value on their menu and terrible even at half price.

Taco Bell's entire pricing and incentive structure is fucked and they are relying on getting zoomer's "hyped" for the next weeks "drop" of new items, many of which will inevitably include items that zoomers never had that have been removed.
