Are there any instructions to cook rabbit ribs. I was thinking of cooking the meat so that it falls off the bone so I can make deli-style sandwiches with rabbit meat.

Also, should I get kangaroo or guinea fowl next?

I don't understand the OP picture. There is nothing to suggest that hackers or pedophiles would not show affection towards their own pets. If you're going to whinge about derailing the thread then maybe next time you should not use an off-topic picture as the face of your thread.

I do not know either, just my hard rive is full thanks to fucking Siemens NX CAD software.

I am fine with hijacks, the jannies might not be, though, but who cares.

I've never tried either but birds tend to be a pain in the ass due to all the bones. Got to think Kangatail would make for some nice big steaks, though possibly a bit tough.

>> No.20221855

I would slow braise them in some tomato sauce, onion, garlic and spices and wine and then pull the meat. You can use the leftover sauce for some pasta

rabbit is too lean for that. you're better off mixing it with the fat of some other animal to make a sausage and put that on sandwiches

'Roo it is.

P.S: Trying out specialty meats is fun, the hardest part is figuring out how to cook them. Start with something somewhat common like lamb, duck or venison, then go from there. My ultimate goal is to make a gilded age recipe that calls for a Terrapin. (Expensive and rare turtle that is prized for its meat).

This is also fair, any recs for sausage makers? (Or should I go to a local butcher, most of them are Europeans, so they will not be grossed out by rabbit, though I know one guy, an American, who would be).

My mouth is watering, it is a leaner meat than venison, I assume.

Do you know any reputable meat markets on-line. I would like meat from the Greenland Shark to make my own Hakarl, but I can only find Hakarl itself. (I will need to do this in the dry part of the summer, so the curing will be like that of Biltong).

Alright, I will call a local seafood market to inquire about sharks.

I will add that conch is a local specialty in my part of the world, but you should never buy canned conch. The taste is by far inferior to the fresh variety. The flavor is somewhat sweet, but also still bear a salty taste. Consider it analogous to crab meat, with a smoother texture, unless fried. When fried it is softer than other fried seafood in texture and is perfect for making a fritter out of.

I have not tried to make conch fritters, but coconut oil should give the best flavor for frying, if I had to guess.

I had to start feeding my cat rabbit after she had surgery because everything else makes her sick now. The smell is honestly awful, it smells like a straight up rat. I don't know how anyone can eat rabbit.

I've only ever had conch in chowder down in Florida, where I assume it was fresh.
Personally, I would use tallow, which is always going to be the most flavorful fry oil.

>> No.20221955

>>20221943
Florida is where I live, anon. Tallow would be good to fry in as well. Chowder, soup and fritters are common, but I have heard recipes for baked conch and a conch stew (which has Bahamian and Haitian varieties).
>>20221940
I know someone who raises rats (and I mean actual rats, such as roof rats and Hispid Cotton rats). The smell comes from cleanliness. Rats do not like cleaning anywhere but the face, so their body produces a smell.

Rabbits get the smell simply because they physically cannot clean themselves easily, outside of the paws and part of the face. In other words, less area to clean, so it is our responsibility to clean them.

Trust me, if smelled freshly killed chicken, you would not want it either.

I tried kangaroo once. It had an odd smell, a bit like liver or kidneys even though there were no organs on the plate.
>>20221940
Eating ONLY rabbit will eventually kill you, because the meat is fat deficient. Not sure if this applies to cats, but I'd definitely check with your vet before continuing a diet like this.

Speaking of exotic meats (and excuse me for shitting up the thread). I have heard that silky chickens taste different from regular chickens and are a better meat in almost every way. Can anyone confirm?

>> No.20223124

>>20221986
i couldn't say but i would suggest that if you're raising chickens for meat one of the most important factors is how fast they grow to full size. we only keep chickens for eggs so i couldn't say anything about the taste of different breeds

No I had a two pair bonded cats, one died on easter suddenly of heart failure and 6 months later the other died of lymphoma a month after he was diagnosed with it.
My best friend I had known since I was 5 and 30 years later I don't know what to do now that he is gone so suddenly.
Seemingly everything I love was taken away in the past year.
