Just tried negro kale for the first time and it was astounding. It's thick and strong tasting, but only mildly bitter, and dirt cheap. I basically don't see a reason to buy any other brassica over this.

she taught me something important. you gotta cook the shit out of them in liquid- she said not just water but make your own potlikker with vinegar, chicken broth, oil, with garlic, bacon grease, soy sauce
