I just got handed a 10lb box of mushrooms, what should I do with them? Anyone got any super shrooms heavy recipes?

I would go mushroom heavy for a week and saute then freeze the rest. Even freezing stuffed mushrooms would be good

I just picked up pic related

Buy a pressure cooker(second hand and make sure it is safe to use) and sterilize some hay\wood chips then put a few chopped shrooms in the mix.

Mist daily[VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU USE BOTTLED WATER or water with NO CHLORINE](once or twice depending on the environmental humidty) and the resultant shrooms after a while. Also make sure to prevent contamination by washing your hands before interacting(although don't touch the fruiting body[mushroom] before harvest since the fungus doesn't enjoy that).

If you're lucky the mushrooms still had spores left and will grow you a new batch after a while.

Eat them until you’re sick of mushrooms and then in about a week make mushroom stock, freeze the stock.

Btw VERY IMPORTANT: if the mushrooms that grow out of the mycelium look different to the ones you bought, don't take the risk and chuck em, better safe than sorry.

Yeah, soup is good and freezes well. Other than that I would do the ketchup thing. I've done both and they both turn out pretty good.

You can add various spices to your brine too. Get a few jars, I'm sure there must be a pi/ck/ling expert around here. I've seen a General for it.

Nice score! Mushroom stroganoff is easy and uses about a cup of sliced shrooms per serving. A creamy and thick mushroom soup or mushroom-based shepherd's pie would also be really good. If those are what you have, they look like plain white buttons, which aren't super flavorful on their own, so make sure you pick a recipe similar to the above where you can add plenty of stock or whatever else. Man, now I think I'm going to do a mushroom dish next week.

Based nipponese steeler. I should have said earlier - if you can, before you cook with them, chunk them and leave them in the sun for a while, so the pieces get plenty of solar exposure. The UV causes the level of vitamin D in them to skyrocket, and being outside in the sun will help dehydrate them a bit, saving you time and (fuel) energy when you do the actual cooking.
>On their own, 100 grams of white raw mushrooms only contain about 7 IU of vitamin D
>after just 15 minutes [...] the vitamin D content [...] jumped up to 700 IU
>after one hour, the fungi contained a whopping 1,300 IU of the nutrient
One of the least known /ck/ pro tips.

That’s a pretty convincing pic for proving you’re not a mushroom thief. Almost too good. I’ll believe you for now but I got my eye on you. I like to rough cube a pound of mushrooms, season with olive oil, freshly chopped garlic, and Yondu Vegetable Umami liquid seasoning. Roast at 350f in the oven for thirty minutes and you have a nice mushroom dish to put on rice.
