I never got into flip flops, the thought of wearing them with socks is especially unnerving to me.
There's probably someone willing to buy the box as an antique on eBay, probably not for a lot though, since I imagine these kinds of mass produced things are still somewhat common.
I once found some snuff, produced in West Germany. It's a little lighter, but about as enjoyable as the same brand now, 35+ years later. I've also inherited some self-made spirits and (cheap) cognac, that have become exceedingly smooth and tasty over the course of 50 years.
If the ginger is stored in a cool and dry place, looks and smells good, I'd probably put some on my grilled cheese and think about the different time and place, when it was powdered, if I were in your shoes.
